Meet Jonathan Foster

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Foster.

Hi Jonathan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have been a touring musician for ten years now and I routinely play several shows in Denver and the surrounding areas multiple times a year on my national tours. My first cross-country tour was only about 15 shows and this year I will play about 200 dates including Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Lyons, Golden and other parts of Colorado like Montrose, Pueblo, and Grand Junction.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Every day is a winding road and you learn a little bit more during each adventure around the country, both about yourself and the music industry. I have been very fortunate to have relatively smooth and slow progress through my career. As an independent musician, the bottom line of making ends meet can be a monthly struggle, especially in an ever-changing economy with current inflated prices for transportation and essential goods. At the end of the day, it’s all about the music and sharing it with great communities like Denver!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an award-winning songwriter, recording artist, and touring musician who has released five independent studio albums, including my latest Lantern Shade. I have performed over ten U.S. tours spanning the country several times and have played over 500 shows during this period. My sound can be referenced as Folk-Americana with a strong vocal presence woven with imaginative lyrics, acoustic guitar, harmonica, and engaging songs that make you feel at home. I enjoy sharing my music and stories from my travels at an intimate level mixing in observations of the people, places, and wonders of the world.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was shy, curious, a dreamer, and into music, art, team sports and the outdoors.
