Meet Joshua Leland Yurges

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Leland Yurges. Joshua Leland was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Kaylyn Schmer, IIDA, LEED AP BD+C, NCIDQ.

Joshua Leland, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
For me, it started in 2002 with a curiosity & a desire to fill my time with something constructive. I wanted to create something. That is what drives me to this day, curiosity.

Please talk to us about your creative work and career. What should we know?
My artwork is always evolving. For the past twenty years, I have been experimenting with different techniques, mediums, and ideas to create a body of work that is constantly changing and growing. I enjoy working in series, as it allows me to explore a concept or idea in depth. However, in order to remain engaged in the creative process, I also need to make subtle changes and alterations to the artwork. I prefer not to discuss the meaning behind my artwork. Instead, I want the viewer to come to their own conclusion. I believe that art should be open to interpretation, and that each person should be able to take away something different from the work. This is why I strive to create artwork that is visually interesting and evocative, without relying on words to explain its meaning. My artwork is a reflection of my personal journey. Every piece is an exploration of my own thoughts and feelings, and an expression of my creative voice. As I continue to create, I am learning more and more about myself. Despite having been an artist for two decades, I still feel like I am just beginning my journey. I am excited to explore new ideas and concepts, and to see how my artwork evolves over time. So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Kaylyn Schmer, IIDA, LEED AP BD+C, NCIDQ and Composition Creative, LLC and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Composition Creative, LLC.
I first met Kaylyn through Instagram. I had recently finished a piece and decided to promote a post on IG which led her to my work. It was a wonderful surprise when she messaged me wanting to know more. At the time I very much wanted to design a website but was lacking the tech savvy knowledge needed to get a site to where I wanted it to be. Making the decision to work with Kaylyn and Composition Creative to create a website for me was a decision to bring my business to the next level. I very much enjoyed working with Kaylyn. She payed close attention to what I was looking for to achieve an aesthetic that fit in with the Joshua Leland Yurges brand. Since the launch of my website I have I have had a dramatic increase in sales and commissions.
