Meet Julie Fink of Tenacious Dames RC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Fink.

Hi Julie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started the Dames (Tenacious Dames Riding Club) with another female rider in April of 2013. We started with a handful of women and opened the first Chapter in Billings, MT. The following year we opened Great Falls Chapter and members increased very quickly. Over the years we opened in each major city in MT and eventually splitting some of the chapters into smaller towns. The Co founder made the decision in the early years to not continue as we were growing very fast. We needed to put positions in to be able to effectively run the club. We had grown above 100+ members quickly. We did expand into South Dakota and Idaho which has had its challenges. Our mission is for Women to empower Women through the love of riding. The chapters ride and support each other. The club takes an annual ride every year to a new destination called the End of Season Ride ( EOS) that brings members from all areas to ride together as one. From the back of the ride all you see is strong tenacious women riders for miles in formation. So incredibly powerful. We are the Dames an all female riding club

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has always been a challenge to operate and participate with lots of women from different walks of life. Many of us come from some kind of abuse in our life. To empower and support in a positive way is always a challenge. We don’t always agree on how things go. Many have come and gone and I truly wish we were a good fit for all. The challenge has always been the ability to keep drama out. We hope when members decide to leave it’s on a good note.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was quiet and shy. I had a few friends but kept my circle small. As an adult in my personal life I definitely still keep my group of friends small. Club life my amount of friends are much larger . I am a gather of people I connect people and do it naturally. The club has given me the opportunity to make life long friends that I would have never met otherwise
