Today we’d like to introduce you to Karin Eckert.
Hi Karin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got my start as a personal chef because I wasn’t feeling well myself and knew food had the power to improve my health but I was overwhelmed by all the conflicting advice. Vegetarian, vegan, paleo, keto, raw… I loved cooking, but I was genuinely confused about what was right for my body.
That curiosity led me to became a Nutrition Therapy Practitioner. As I began working with clients, I quickly realized something important: even when people understood what would help them feel better, they often couldn’t follow through, mostly because they didn’t have the time, energy, or desire to cook.
So I started cooking for my nutrition clients to bridge that gap. What began as a way to support their health turned into something much bigger. Over time, the cooking became the heart of my work, and today I focus fully on preparing thoughtful, personalized meals that make healthy eating realistic and enjoyable for my clients.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a really fun and fulfilling journey. One of the things I love most is hearing from my clients about how much better they feel eating my food and how much stress it takes off their plate when it comes to mealtime. Knowing that the meals are actually helping people feel better and making their lives easier is what keeps me going.
My business, Eat 100 Foods, has evolved a lot over time. I originally cooked in clients’ homes, which I really loved because it was so personal. During COVID, things shifted and I had to rethink how I worked, which led me to rent space in a shared kitchen. That change ended up being a really positive step—it gave me room to grow and serve more clients.
As demand continued to increase, I was able to move into my own commercial kitchen, which felt like a big milestone. Looking back, it wasn’t one big moment that changed everything, it was a series of small adjustments and decisions that built on each other. Each phase taught me something new and helped shape
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Eat 100 Foods?
My business, Eat 100 Foods, is a personal chef service focused on preparing custom meals for clients who want to eat well without the stress of planning, shopping, and cooking. I work with people who care about their health and how food makes them feel. While I’m known for working with clients who have food sensitivities or specific dietary needs, I also cook for plenty of people who simply want good, well-prepared food at home.
I specialize in highly customized meals. There’s no set menu – everything is tailored to the individual. My nutrition degree helps me understand each client and what foods work best for their body, and my training as a natural foods chef allows me to turn that into meals that are both nourishing and satisfying.
What sets Eat 100 Foods apart is that combination of nutrition knowledge and real-world cooking. I bridge the gap between knowing what to eat and actually eating that way consistently. This isn’t meal prep – it’s personal chef services designed to fit into real life.
What I’m most proud of with Eat 100 Foods is the trust I’ve built with my clients. Many have been with me for years and rely on me week after week. What I want readers to know is that Eat 100 Foods is built on care, quality, and consistency, with the goal of making eating well feel easy and enjoyable.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My clients deserve a lot of the credit. They’ve shaped this business in a very real way by sharing their needs, preferences, and feedback, which has helped me organize and refine my services over time. Paying attention to what works for them has allowed the business to grow in a way that actually serves people well.
I’ve also been supported by many nutritionists over the years who have trusted me with their clients. Their referrals have meant a lot to me, not just because they helped grow the business, but because it shows a shared belief in the value of food as part of someone’s health. That ongoing support and trust have played a big role in where Eat 100 Foods is today.
