Meet Kay Rybicki of Loveland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kay Rybicki.

Hi Kay, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my company from one day wanting a festival outfit but at the time was too much for me so I decided to watch a YouTube video and my best friend taught me the basics, I found the yarn and made an outfit, I posted it online and some girl asked where I got it, I told her I made it and she asked to buy it. I always wanted to be a fashion designer and thought it would be really fun to give it a shot 🙂

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My biggest obstacle, as we all face them, has probably been having to fix enough outfits from models mishandling and being rough from the shows. Getting the sizing perfect was also something I had to progress on!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I hand crochet sparkly sequin sets. Anything from buckets hats, to ball gowns. All my yarn is made from 100% cotton, alpaca, merino wool, rabbit hair, and mohair. All high vibration materials on the skin. I started my brand because I believe no matter you skin color, size, shape, you are beautiful! And deserve to feel that way about yourself. Make you sparkle came from believing that sparkling on the inside and feeling good about yourself you will naturally sparkle on the outside! I’m most proud of the connections I made with others, I believe it’s important to not only build a business but build community and relationships between the people and I think that’s what sets me apart, I do it for the love of community and connection!!!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising people might not know about me is that I’m a mom 🙂
