Today we’d like to introduce you to Krissy Morine.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into the beauty industry started simply because I loved getting my nails done. I had practiced on myself a few times and really enjoyed it, so I decided to give the nail industry a try. Before that, I had spent a year studying massage therapy, but I quickly realized it wasn’t the right path for me. Once I started the nail program, I completely fell in love with it and knew I had found what I was meant to do.
I started my career in 2013 in my small hometown of Fort Garland, Colorado, working from a room in my home. From there, I moved into a salon in downtown Denver, where I was able to grow my skills and experience. Then COVID happened, and like so many other small businesses and beauty professionals, my path was interrupted. I went back home for a while and eventually made my way back into the industry, joining another salon in September 2025.
That opportunity ultimately led me to something I had dreamed about but wasn’t sure would happen so soon: opening my own salon. In July 2026, KM Beauty officially became its own salon.
Along the way, one of my biggest challenges has been putting myself and my business out there. Learning how to promote myself on social media, get my name recognized, and build a loyal clientele has definitely pushed me outside of my comfort zone. It has taken consistency, patience, and a lot of learning along the way.
In May 2026, I also took another big step and created my own professional nail product line. Today, I’m incredibly proud to have built KM Beauty into not only my own salon and brand, but a place where other beauty professionals can work toward their own goals too.
What makes me most proud is knowing that I’m no longer just building something for myself. I’m creating a business where I can help my beauty team grow, build their own clientele, and work toward the same dreams of independence and success that I’ve worked so hard to achieve. It’s exciting to look back at where I started in a small room in my hometown and see how far it has grown.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Along the way, one of my biggest challenges has been putting myself and my business out there. Learning how to promote myself on social media, get my name recognized, and build a loyal clientele has definitely pushed me outside of my comfort zone. Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
KM Beauty is a full-service beauty salon and growing beauty brand based in Brighton, Colorado. We offer a variety of beauty services including nails, pedicures, facials, waxing, lashes, and other beauty experiences designed to help our clients feel confident, beautiful, and pampered. We also host specialty events and pop-up services, giving our clients opportunities to experience different beauty services all in one place.
One of the things that sets KM Beauty apart is that it’s more than just a salon. I’ve worked hard to create a space that feels welcoming, supportive, and empowering—not only for our clients, but for the beauty professionals who work here. My goal is to create an environment where talented professionals can build their clientele, grow their businesses, and eventually reach the same goals of independence and ownership that I’ve worked toward.
Another exciting part of KM Beauty is our professional nail product line. I launched my own products in May 2026, which was a huge milestone for me personally and for the brand. Creating products of my own has allowed me to take everything I’ve learned throughout my years in the nail industry and put that experience into products I truly believe in. I’m especially proud that KM Beauty is becoming both a place where people can receive quality services and a brand that beauty professionals can use and trust.
I think what makes KM Beauty special is the personal connection behind it. I started as a nail artist working from a room in my home, and today I have my own salon and product line. I understand what it feels like to start with a dream, build a clientele from the ground up, struggle with putting yourself out there, and wonder if you’re ever going to reach the next level. That experience is a huge part of how I approach my business today.
I want readers to know that KM Beauty is about more than beauty services. It’s about confidence, self-care, community, and creating opportunities. Whether someone comes in for a set of nails, a facial, a pedicure, or another service, I want them to leave feeling cared for and confident. And for the beauty professionals who join KM Beauty, I want it to be a place where they can see what’s possible for their own future.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is growth—both personal growth and helping the people around me grow. Building KM Beauty has taught me that success isn’t just about how far you can take yourself; it’s also about how many people you can help along the way.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come, from starting out in a small room in my hometown to owning my own salon and creating my own product line. But what means even more to me now is being able to create opportunities for other beauty professionals. I want my team to know that they can build something of their own, create a successful career, and achieve goals that may have once felt out of reach.
I also care deeply about creating an environment where people feel comfortable, confident, and valued. Whether it’s a client sitting in one of our chairs or a beauty professional building their career within KM Beauty, I want people to feel like they belong.
At the end of the day, what matters most to me is knowing that I’m building something that is bigger than myself. I want KM Beauty to be a place where beauty, confidence, community, and opportunity come together—and I want to leave a positive impact on the people who come through our doors.
