Meet Kristine Bell of Cattle Grounds Coffee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristine Bell.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My family started a coffee shop in 2007 in Thornton and at the Denver Public Library. We closed the doors in 2018 and the love of coffee just never went away. After years of “just talking about it,” in 2022, I was able to purchase my first coffee trailer and open a dream of mine. Creating and opening Cattle Grounds Coffee not only had our love of coffee, but also my love for agriculture. My goal of caffeinating the farmers in Keenesburg grew very quickly; being mobile allowed us to do field deliveries to help harvest crews keep going in a very important time of year! We got involved with Weld Central High School FFA program and the sporting programs, Cardinal Community Academy was a huge supporter, involving us with many school events and Staff appreciations. Within the first year, we were able to be a part of so many rodeos, high school sports, and awards ceremonies, We were able to give back to the schools and the Southeast Weld County Fair. The Keenesburg and Wiggins communities have been amazing supporters and we have been able to meet so many new community members!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have always been told, “Nothing worth having comes easy.” Starting this business came with many learning curves. Being mobile but still wanting to provide all the variety and options of a normal coffee shop, and keeping equipment from freezing in Colorado winters were definitely a few of the biggest challenges.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Cattle Grounds Coffee is a family-owned and operated mobile coffee shop that is focused on supplying caffeine to the small agricultural towns of Southeast Weld County. Being mobile allows us to be more community involved with special events such as rodeos, fairs, and school sports. We are very proud of our products, but our creativity in flavors and drink combinations sets us apart from others! We offer specialty coffees that come in a wide variety of flavors and are available hot, iced, and blended, fitting for all seasons and preferences. If you are not a coffee drinker but still have a love for caffeine or specialty beverages, we have you covered as well. Cattle Grounds offers flavored energy drinks, Italian sodas, smoothies, and frozen hot chocolates for all ages. We never forget our four-legged customers; we always have a complimentary pup cup ready. Another thing that sets Cattle Grounds apart from the others is our ag/western drink names, you can order anything from an Ammeraerto by Morning to a Salt Block or a Bahama Cowboy to a Harvest Sunrise.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Community relationships and involvement. While we love and truly appreciate our community relationships because we would not be here without them, we want to make sure we are involved and giving back just as much to our communities as they give to us
