Meet LaVon Williams of The Lifestyle Brand Company Ltd.

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaVon Williams.

Hi LaVon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I founded The Lifestyle Brand Company Ltd. in May 2020 during the pandemic when the world slowed down. It was a hard time for many, especially for people of color. It impacted many of us emotionally and mentally. People were more conscious of social and racial inequalities. Buying fresh flowers and smelling the aroma of candles created a sense of calm, and that’s when I found my passion for handcrafting candles.

It took significant testing and patience to construct the perfect candle. I experimented with many different wax, wicks, and fragrances until I was satisfied with my candle recipes. I appreciate the positive influence candles have on mental health and want to share that with the world. I’m obsessed with aesthetically pleasing things, so I was intentional when choosing timeless candle vessels and elegant containers that will enhance your home décor while creating fragrances that will provide a tranquil experience.

The Lifestyle Brand Company is an extension of me and what I stand for. I believe everyone should experience self-love and luxury as it’s my secret to well-being.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Becoming a hand maker is uncharted territory, thus, creating many learning opportunities, such as tracking inventory, something as small as fragrance oils to the ounce, preparing for my first market, and marketing. It has been a roller coaster, but a fun ride! It’s not always simple to market candles online when people cannot smell them before they purchase them. I try to find unique ways to create a lifestyle with my post so people can feel the mood and feel inspired to create something similar in their space. Another major obstacle I have faced is birthing a new company while being a full-time healthcare leader at a large healthcare system in Colorado. Finding the stability between being an entrepreneur, employee, wife, and mother can get taxing, but it is something I will continue to learn to balance.

I love to listen to and read self-help books and podcasts. Anything that keeps me inspired and motivated. I also enjoy apps such as impulse and peak to exercise my mind as we often get consumed with mindless shows and applications, so this is another way I practice self-care.
