Hi Lexy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started making dog collars and leashes when I struggled to find a long-line lead that fit my requirements. So with encouragement from my husband, I got some materials and tried them out.

At first, I just made some gear for my two dogs, then I made some collars and leashes for family and friends as gifts and a few dog moms I know from the local dog community started buying my collars and leashes. The next thing I knew I was opening Fawn & Merle and fast-tracked learning how to run a small business! I love every minute of it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Learning “all the things” at once has been both fun and a challenge! Marketing, e-commerce, accounting, managing inventory, supply chain issues, and balancing with a 9-5 corporate job and my personal life.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in BioThane dog collars and leashes. I think I’m most known for the customer experience. If it’s helping with sizing, color selection, or finding the right leash for their next adventure! It’s fun to be a small part of people’s lives with their dogs.

What do you think about happiness?
This is a big question! Professional – learning and having an impact. Personally, my little family (husband & 2 dogs) and sharing experiences with them and friends whether it be meals out or a weekend away.
