Meet Lindsay Coulter of Castle Rock

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Coulter.

Hi Lindsay, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I had a few professional jobs in medical illustration prior to starting my own company. I had a full time job while moonlighting and working on the branding and marketing for my business. After the birth of my first child it was clear I wasn’t going to get the flexibility I needed as a mother. In addition to caring for my baby I had a book contract and worked on scaling my business. It was really hard to build a client base but after that got rolling more opportunities including high profile legal cases, magazine articles and I wrote my own book. I can’t say enough how important it is to network being a small business owner.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My main struggles with the business have been building a client base. Then finding quality people to work with as well as the work load required to run a business. It is a flexible schedule but demanding and a lot of work!!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a medical illustrator! I absolutely love my job. I have done a wide range of work including publishing, medical device and pharmaceutical advertising as well as patient education and medical legal art. Some of the work I am most proud of are the legal cases. I have worked with attorneys to depict many people’s personal injury and medical malpractice cases. I worked on the Sutherland Springs church massacre which secured a $230 million dollar verdict. I worked on a covid book and 2D animation to educate the general public on the mAb treatment. I also wrote a book to educate attorneys how to use medical illustrations in the court room and medical artist how to create medical legal artwork.

The main things I believe set ION apart from other businesses is our attention to detail and accuracy of our work. We don’t create chop shop art it is custom. We greatly appreciate our clients and treat them like family!

What makes you happy?
I try to find happiness in everyday life. I personally love to spend time with my two sons. They are my heart and soul! I also love reading, writing, running, hiking, yoga, art and nature.
