Meet Yolanda Marant of North Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yolanda Marant.

Hi Yolanda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a Denver, Colorado girl, born and raised, with a country mama and a city dad! I’m the oldest of seven children and come from a rich musical heritage, including my grandparents, Reverend Frank Earl and Callie Earl. Faith, family, and music have always been at the heart of who I am.

Growing up, I was a Disney kid with a BIG imagination! My love for music eventually led me to serve as a lead singer, background vocalist, choir director, music director, and more. I’ve also been blessed to travel internationally, including Japan and Europe, sharing my gifts and experiencing different cultures.

In 2006, I established Wildpraize Music & Media Productions, combining my passion for music, visual arts, and entrepreneurship. What began with graphic design has grown into a creative company offering branding, marketing, media production, and consulting for artists, ministries, businesses, and organizations.

In 2017, I relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, beginning a new chapter of my journey.

Today, as I celebrate 20 years in business, I’m embracing what I call **”The Pivot,”** expanding Wildpraize Music & Media while also working on my own album, a project that represents an exciting new chapter in my musical career.

At 47, I’m reminded that growth doesn’t mean forgetting where you started. It means allowing yourself to explore everything you’re capable of becoming. And I believe there’s still so much more ahead!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not! LOL! I’ve experienced challenges since childhood, from personal setbacks and financial struggles to difficult relationships and moments that tested my faith.

In 2023, I unexpectedly lost my mother, followed by several other loved ones. That season changed me and strengthened my decision to prioritize healing through therapy.

Entrepreneurship has taught me the importance of boundaries, knowing my worth, and learning to grow beyond my comfort zone.

I’m still learning, still healing, and still building. The road hasn’t been easy, but I’m grateful I haven’t stopped moving forward.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a singer, creative director, entrepreneur, and consultant with over 20 years of experience. Through Wildpraize Music & Media, I specialize in graphic design, branding, marketing, media production, and creative strategy.

I’m widely known for my graphic design work, particularly within the music and faith communities, but my creativity extends far beyond that. I’m also preparing to release my own music!

What I’m most proud of is building a brand that has continued to grow and evolve. What sets me apart is my ability to see the bigger picture. I don’t just create something that looks good. I help people bring their ideas to life with purpose, personality, and strategy.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Yes! First and always, **GOD! JESUS!!** I’m what some would call multi-gifted, but every gift I have comes from Him, 1,000%! His grace, strength, and guidance carry me daily. I’m nothing without Him. Like the song says, “I’d be like a ship without a sail!” LOL! Still a little churchy girl at heart!

My parents instilled faith, integrity, and a strong work ethic in me and my siblings. My late mother had a gift for bringing people together, creating opportunities, and serving others beyond the four walls of the church. My dad has always led by example, showing the value of hard work and providing for his family.

I’m grateful for my family, especially my cousin Angela Rhone, who’s been one of my biggest advocates and has always encouraged me to dream bigger.

Bishop Quacy L. Smith deserves special recognition. He gave me my first opportunity to design graphics at Kingdom of Faith Christian Center and encouraged me to start my business. That opportunity helped lay the foundation for what I’ve built today.

Alan Young, Toccara Young, and Stephanie Drake have challenged my thinking and expanded my perspective. The late Maurice Rogers, Clarence Harding, Takeitha Carter, Cedric Shannon Rives, Pastor Deon Jefferson, Sonia Hardy, Shanta Harrison, Sharon Queen Campbell, Michelle Prather, Shirley Chapman, Brandy Chapman, the late Kevin Lemons, Tiunna Lemons, Joshua A. Johnson, and many others have and are carry meaningful roles along the way.

Entrepreneurship can feel lonely sometimes, but I’ve learned that support isn’t always loud, it’s present. Whether through mentorship, friendship, opportunity, or encouragement, each person has contributed to my journey.

And trust me, there are MANY more names that belong here! I’m thankful for every person who’s been part of my story, including the clients who’ve trusted me with their visions over the years.
