Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Sanchez
Hi Luis, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey as a radio host in Chicago, where I built my foundation in broadcasting and developed a passion for storytelling. Over time, my love for Latin music and culture led me to pursue journalism and reporting, allowing me to dive deeper into the industry and connect with artists, trends, and stories that shape the scene. Along the way, I also became an emcee, bringing energy and engagement to live events. While Chicago is home, Denver has become my second home whenever I travel out of state, further expanding my reach and connections in the industry.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like any journey in media and entertainment, there have been challenges—both personal and professional. Breaking into radio was tough, especially as I worked to find my voice and stand out in a competitive industry. Transitioning into journalism and reporting for Latin music came with its own hurdles, from building credibility to gaining access to key figures in the industry.
As an emcee, I had to learn how to command a crowd and adapt to different types of events, which took time and experience. There were moments of self-doubt, financial struggles, and the constant need to prove myself. Traveling between cities, especially making Denver a second home, has also required balancing work, networking, and maintaining strong industry relationships.
Despite the challenges, every obstacle has been a lesson, and the passion for what I do has kept me pushing forward.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work revolves around amplifying Latin music and culture through different media platforms. I started as a radio host in Chicago, which laid the foundation for my journey into journalism and reporting. Now, I specialize in covering Latin music, interviewing artists, and providing insights into the industry. As an emcee, I bring that same energy to live events, connecting with audiences and creating memorable experiences.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built and the opportunities I’ve had to tell stories that matter—whether it’s highlighting rising talent, covering major events, or giving a voice to artists who deserve more recognition. What sets me apart is my deep understanding of the Latin music scene, my ability to connect with both artists and audiences, and my versatility in working across radio, journalism, and live events.
My passion for the culture, my dedication to authenticity, and my ability to move between different roles seamlessly make my work stand out. Whether I’m on the mic, writing, or hosting an event, my goal is always the same—to celebrate Latin music and bring people closer to the artists and stories that shape it.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Networking. Building genuine relationships has been key to my success. The Latin music industry, like many others, thrives on connections, and being able to network effectively has opened countless doors for me. It’s not just about meeting people—it’s about creating meaningful connections, supporting others, and staying engaged in the community.
Beyond networking, adaptability has also been crucial. Whether I’m on the radio, writing an article, or emceeing an event, being able to adjust to different roles and situations has helped me grow in my career. But at the core of it all, passion and persistence have driven me forward, even when challenges arise.
