Meet Megan Jett of Megan Jett LMT

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Jett

Hi Megan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always felt a connection to healing touch and energy work. My mom likes to tell the story that, as a child, I would often ask to rub the feet and shoulders of family members after just moments of being in their presence—how true it is, I’m not sure, but it’s a memory that stuck with me.

I grew up in Iowa, where getting a massage was more of a luxury than a regular part of self-care. In my early teens, I developed a stomach disorder called gastroparesis. After years of trying different prescriptions and seeing doctors, I decided to explore alternative treatments. I started working with a massage therapist who focused on abdominal massage and acupressure—and I found relief almost immediately.

Eventually, I took a leap and moved to Fort Collins, where the focus on holistic wellness was both exciting and a bit overwhelming. I started massage school a week later. It was fascinating to learn how the body is not only connected physically but energetically as well. This led me to my first Reiki attunement, and soon after graduation, I began expanding my knowledge of bodywork through modalities like TMJ therapy and cupping, while also diving deeper into energy practices like Yoga and Somatic Healing.

I spent almost nine years building strong relationships with my clients at a small wellness center in town. I realized it was time to take another leap and start my own practice.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest struggles I’ve had to work through is my stomach disorder. That experience has definitely deepened my passion for the work I do, and has taught me the importance of caring for my body and energy. This work itself can be demanding—it requires a lot of focus and presence, and if I’m not mindful of protecting my own energy and checking in with my own self-care, it takes a toll on my body and ability to show up for my clients.
I make time to work out, get acupuncture, rest and meditate. Setting boundaries is another skill I’m working on that allows me to continue doing what I love while staying healthy and energized. However, I’m guilty of plopping down on the couch after a long day of work and not stretching or drinking enough water, eating foods that trigger a flare up that can keep me down for days.

We are all human and balance is key.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m a massage therapist and Reiki practitioner, and I’m passionate about supporting people through all types of physical and emotional challenges. Whether it’s relaxation, recovery from surgery, or relief from chronic pain, I work with a wide range of bodies and needs. I specialize in prenatal massage, deep tissue, and Reiki, all offering a tailor-made way to connect with the body and promote healing.

My approach is intuitive and deeply rooted in listening to the body; meeting my clients exactly where they are. I know the body has its own wisdom, and will tell me what it needs. I’m only here to guide and support that. What I’m most proud of is the trust I build with my clients and the way they leave feeling seen, heard, and understood.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I’m hopeful for the future of the massage industry, especially since the awareness surrounding holistic health and wellness continues to grow. People are becoming more proactive about taking care of their bodies and minds, the conversation is being had. My hope is that healthcare plans will start to recognize massage therapy as an essential part of wellness, making it more accessible to everyone.
