Meet Midas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Midas. 

Hi Midas, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Originally, I was born in Compton and raised in Long Beach, CA. I moved to Denver after college and started making music with some of the most talented people in the city. Doobie Club was started after a song I wrote dedicated to the cannabis culture in 2015. Since then, we have become one of the most sought-after apparel lines not only in the state but nationally as well. Merchandise includes hats, tees, jackets, sweatsuits, and accessories. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. In fact, there are many days that I wanted to quit. There are so many sharks in the industry. I learned it to be pivotal that all certifications, patent, and copyright paperwork are solidified. People will take your ideas and run with them if you don’t have the proper attorneys representing on your behalf. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Doobie Club was started with the notion to connect the “sophisticated smokers” and not the perceived stoners. I always believed the ultimate common denominator is cannabis and what better way to bring them together than in a “Club”. We specialize in apparel and brand attachment and we are known for setting trends and being the voice for the voiceless 

as it pertains to the conversation surrounding cannabis and the rights of the community. I’m most proud that we have consistent customers in not only Colorado, but Georgia, Florida, NY, Texas, and Nevada. The way people promote the brand gives a meaning to “word of mouth” and we’ve recently removed “Doobie” because of the demand from kids to wear the clothes as well. What sets us apart from others is we’re not afraid to try anything. If it feels good to us or the customer is specifically asking for a color scheme or shirt idea then we implement. We are a people’s company. We work with the people and are for the people and it plays out in customer service. The customer is always right.
