Today we’d like to introduce you to Mimi Renee.
Mimi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My career began in large-scale event and public art production, working with artists and organizations to create impactful community experiences, from political rallies to motorcycle rallies to fashion tradeshows. Over 20+ years, I’ve produced concerts, festivals, installations, and cultural programs that connect people to art and each other across the globe. In Denver, I met Kenny — an artist and inventor — which added a new dimension to my projects. Together, we blend creativity and inspiration, and this year we became quarterfinalists in America’s Favorite Couple after multiple first-place wins in our group. Our story shows that love and creative partnership can flourish later in life, even in a city with a tough dating reputation.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not even close — but that’s where the richness comes from. In my career, working in the arts means balancing inspiration with logistics, budgets, and the unpredictability of live events. I’ve had projects where weather, funding, or even politics threatened to pull the plug at the last second. You learn quickly how to stay nimble and resourceful.
In my personal life, finding love later in life meant navigating the complexities of past relationships, old wounds, and the stories we tell ourselves about what’s “possible.” Denver’s dating scene doesn’t have the best reputation, and for years I believed the narrative that love here was fleeting or superficial. Meeting Kenny — and building something real together — shattered that myth.
We’ve been impressed with Next Week Productions, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Next Week Productions (NXTWK) produces concerts, festivals, and public art experiences that connect people to culture and to each other. We work with artists, nonprofits, and cultural organizations to create events that are as seamless in execution as they are soulful in impact.

Prepare for tomorrow with Next Week Productions.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck is a tricky thing. I’ve had my share of setbacks that felt like bad luck at the time — a project falling through, a relationship ending, an opportunity slipping away — but each one eventually revealed itself as a turning point.
Meeting Kenny was pure serendipity. Neither of us was “looking” in the way people think you’re supposed to, but the timing was perfect. The same goes for our creative lives — so many of the collaborations I’ve been part of came from chance introductions or being in the right place at the right time. I think luck shows up most when you’re already doing the work and staying open.
Pricing:
- For public art, festival, or event production inquiries, my rates are custom to the project scope — but I always prioritize collaborations with local artists and community-based organizations.
- Kenny’s art and prototypes are available for commission; pricing depends on medium and complexity.
- We’re also open to creative collaborations where the value isn’t just monetary — sometimes the right project is worth more than a paycheck.
