Meet Molly Brown of Coach Molly Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly Brown.

Molly, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a certified personal trainer, runner, swimmer, weightlifter, plant-based eater, climber and nutrition coach, I help everyday athletes gain strength and confidence. Through personalized coaching, my clients build strength inside and out, prevent injuries and improve their performance.

My journey started in the pool. Growing up as a competitive swimmer, I learned early on that hard work and consistency help me reach my goals. However, I also internalized the pressure many athletes face to push through pain, ignore anxiety and prioritize performance above all else. At age 12, I was diagnosed with swimmer’s shoulder and chose to take time off to heal, a decision that would shape how I view movement and recovery moving forward.

In high school, I returned to swimming and started strength training recreationally but chronic pain lingered. By college, I was lifting for hours each day and working at the campus gym, convinced I was doing everything right. In reality, I was under-eating, cutting carbs and slipping into unhealthy habits. That experience taught me how easily fitness can become unsustainable when it’s rooted in pressure instead of balance.

Everything shifted when I moved to Colorado and started working with a personal trainer who helped me shift my mindset. From that experience, I learned how to train smarter, recover properly and move without pain. That one-on-one guidance was transformative and ultimately inspired me to become a coach myself.

My career as a personal trainer began in 2018 and by 2020, I felt called to launch my own business. Coming from a corporate gym environment, I saw the need to make fitness more accessible to everyone. With online coaching, my clients no longer have to deal with rigid scheduling, excessive rules and fees from gyms. They get what they need, when they need it and have the ongoing support to crush their goals in the process.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a client-based business is far from easy but it’s incredibly rewarding. I knew that the fitness industry, especially in Denver, was heavily saturated but I was still ready for the challenge.

One of the toughest parts of being a small business owner is learning to manage self-doubt. You become your own worst critic and even when you’re doing everything right, you question yourself. There’s no shortage of advice and resources out there but another aspect of being a business owner is learning how to ask for help, set boundaries and delegate when needed.

It hasn’t always been smooth but I feel incredibly privileged to face these challenges head-on and grow through each one.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Working with a wide variety of athletes has shown me that athleticism is about more than being at an elite level. If you are dedicated to improvement, committed to your fitness or sport and determined to achieve a goal, consider yourself an athlete! While there may be a lot of debate on the subject, it’s not about what other people think. It’s about changing your mindset and believing in your potential.

Rather than providing quick fixes or trendy workouts, I help my clients build habits and make real, sustainable change. My coaching goes beyond workouts. It’s about creating a plan that fits your life and getting the tools you need to keep progressing without burning out or getting injured. This approach does require time and effort but my clients who stay the course always find it’s worth it.

I offer several ways to work together, each designed for busy, everyday athletes who want to train smarter, build strength and gain confidence without sacrificing flexibility. My online coaching programs deliver customized workouts directly to your phone along with 24/7 access to your coach for questions, feedback and support. Virtual coaching includes guided one-on-one sessions twice per week, plus additional workouts, nutrition education and ongoing accountability to help you stay on track. If you’re looking to improve your relationship with food, my nutrition coaching program offers education, structure and support to help you build habits that last.

No matter the setting, my approach to fitness and nutrition is holistic and inclusive. I’ve been where most of my clients are and know what it’s like to feel stuck in your training, deal with injuries or have no idea what the right workout routine should look like. That’s why I’m here to take the guesswork out of training by providing structure, support and accountability to help my clients crush their goals confidently and pain-free.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
That first sip of coffee in the morning. A quick conversation with the front desk staff at the gym. Seeing the sunrise on the mountains. Spending time soaking up the sun. A run in the early morning. Whatever it may be, these are the moments that bring me the most joy.

Lately, a phrase that has stuck with me is “how your life feels is a lot more important than how it looks,” and I couldn’t agree more. Ultimately, it’s how you feel while going about your life that truly matters. Sure, you’ll still face moments of challenge, sadness or frustration but learning to ride out those waves has made all the happy moments feel a lot sweeter.
