Meet Nikita Jhaveri of Blush

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikita Jhaveri.

Hi Nikita, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started in the beauty industry when I was 16 years old as a receptionist at Antoine du Chez. I loved the atmosphere, creativity, and energy that surrounded me every day. I continued to work there throughout college and was given the opportunity to have ownership in the company. The owner of Antoine du Chez, Nick, and I started the company Blush a few months before the pandemic hit. Blush is a concept that brought beauty services to working moms, women entrepreneurs’ and any woman that can’t find time to put themselves first. It is an on-location brand that makes beauty convenient. I am a mom of two kids and a workaholic like several other working women, and I know the feeling of putting yourself on the back burner for others. Blush is a solution for women to prioritize themselves so they can get their hair and makeup done while sending out emails, watching the kids, and/or getting on a conference call!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business at the age of 28 with one baby, and now two, was not easy. I am lucky to have several entrepreneurial mentors to challenge me. Leaving my job at the salon to work on Blush full time was one of the biggest obstacles I had to overcome. Antoine du Chez was my comfort zone for 13 years, and to keep myself accountable now while having a family is anything but easy. Wearing multiple hats is something I learned from the salon, but starting a business from scratch was a completely new challenge to me. I am grateful for the challenges I have faced because every day it has taught me a new lesson and I will continue to grow in this role accepting my mistakes along the way.

As you know, we’re big fans of Blush. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Blush was created to help bridge the gap between Beauty Service Professionals and Clients who are in need of on-location beauty services that are restricted with time and everyday priorities. We offer hair and makeup services for anything from corporate events, weddings, headshots, or even a blowout to get you through the day! Our personal touch is what we are most proud of, we send out thank yous for every referral, we call clients to follow up after every appointment and we will always make sure we exceeded expectations. I think it is fair to say that everyone would love to have an extra 10 minutes in their day, Blush creates the opportunity to have beauty services done wherever you are saving you time and energy.
