Today we’d like to introduce you to Oleksandra Novoseltseva.
Hi Oleksandra, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started with a simple dream: to create a place where people felt truly cared for, not just polished. Three years ago, I moved to the United States from Ukraine to start a new life, but I’ve been doing nails for over 14 years. In the beginning, it was just me, a table, and a belief that quality, detail, and consistency matter more than shortcuts. I focused on Ukrainian techniques, which are built on precision and nail health first, beauty second. That approach quickly resonated with clients who wanted results that lasted and service that felt personal.
It wasn’t easy at first—earning trust, working long hours, and balancing creativity with the business side. But step by step, word of mouth spread, and my clients grew into a real community. That community gave me the courage to expand, bring on team members, and train them with the same values.
Today, we’re more than a salon—we’re a space where people come for both beauty and connection. I got here by staying consistent, never compromising on quality, and treating every client as if they were the reason the business exists.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been smooth. I moved from Ukraine just three years ago, and adjusting to life here was a challenge on its own—especially struggling with English while trying to build a business. In the salon, I had to explain why our Ukrainian technique takes longer and costs more, which wasn’t easy in a new language. On top of that, I was doing everything myself—appointments, cleaning, marketing, finances. It was overwhelming, and money was tight in the beginning.
But those struggles taught me persistence. Step by step, I built trust, found my community, and grew a team. Looking back, every obstacle made the business stronger.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in Ukrainian-style manicures and pedicures, focusing on nail health and long-lasting results. Clients know me for rubber base techniques that let nails grow strong and beautiful while lasting up to four weeks. What makes us different is consistency, attention to detail, and the personal care we give every client. I’m most proud that we’ve built not just a salon, but a community where people feel truly cared for.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Honestly, the biggest resources for me aren’t apps or books—it’s art and nature. I love painting and drawing, because it lets me express myself in a different way and keeps my creativity alive for work. Traveling inspires me too—it opens my mind, gives me new perspectives, and fills me with energy. And spending time in the mountains is my way of recharging completely. The quiet, the views, the air—it helps me reset and come back to work with focus and motivation.
