Meet Rosa León Fandiño of Si Quiero.Por eso Puedo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosa León Fandiño.

Rosa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I came to United States to teach Spanish as a second language with a J1 visa for three years.

Being here in in the beginning of my first year at met Matt, who is now my husband. After 21 years without a love relationship, since my first marriage, was beautiful the way we fell in love. After a year of relationship, Matt proposed and I said YES!!!

Of course, the next step was preparing the wedding and then my immigration process. My J1 visa expired after three years working in a multicultural school in Fort Collins but still my green card was not ready. Far away we were to think in 2018 my process would be denied.

To make the story short, so you can read it in my book, lol, the green card was denied twice, yes, two times, and was until 2021 when finally, I got my work permission first, in April, and the green card later in September, everything after a very long, difficult, expensive, and exhausted process.

I spent three years in an immigration limbo status without permission to work and thinking about what I really wanted at that stage of my life, especially after losing my dad in Venezuela without the chance to see him for a last time. I began to review myself internally, to explore my talents, and to know myself in depth. I realized that I wanted to align my talents with my purpose of live -giving something valuable to the community- so I started an inward journey and discovered life coaching and the world of business, and irremediably I felt in love with the idea to start my own business where I could help other people in their reinvention process, personal and professional, building their businesses with purpose.

In that moment Si Quiero Por Eso Puedo got born which means If I want I can.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This process has been many things, except a smooth road. In the first year, we had to struggle with being short with money, and the depression about me feeling guilty to leaving my dad sick in Venezuela. My dad was always my best friend and mentor and he himself urged me to stay here in the States because if I had to wait for my process outside the country that could take me five years before I could comeback, and also, even we have been very short with the money, we could pay for all he needs in a country, like Venezuela, where the situation was plenty of misery, scarcity, and lack.

I needed to find the mechanisms that would help me achieve inner peace, develop the best version of myself, and train myself in the world of life coaching and business, my new goal in my new life.

During the process, I learned many things that today I put at the service of my community.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
