Meet Sacha Jarmon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sacha Jarmon.

Hi Sacha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My mom, Carol (the “RO” in SARO – I am the “SA” = Sacha), and I started this company together during the pandemic. She is a truly amazing artist, primarily sculpts in stone and bronze, and her works are some of my greatest inspiration. We have many of her works on display in our studios and they certainly set the tone.

Growing up she got me into beading at a very young age, and jewelry has been a throughline for me as a hobby since then. I got my AJP (Accredited Jewelry Professional) certification from the Gemological Institute for America when I was interning for a boutique jewelry designer in Los Angeles while attending university at Chapman in Orange County. I went on to try many other careers between LA (where I am from), NYC, and Paris (where my husband is from), before landing in Boulder in 2016. I am very much a generalist which has primed me well for entrepreneurship.

We started LOVE SARO as a way to hold each other accountable for our creative time at a time when we needed it the most. A time of a lot of stress, uncertainty and lack of human connection. Creating this company enhanced our mother-daughter connection, as well as our connection with others in our community. The shared experience is so special and has evolved greater than my wildest dreams since our initial launch in the winter of 2020.

Our original studio is in Boulder and we opened a second studio in Cherry Creek North (corner of Clayton & 3rd Ave) in February 2022. That was intended to be a pop-up but it has been doing so well that we have decided to move in permanently. We also have been retrofitting a short school bus into a mobile studio for the last few months that will be popping up around the State this summer. Both studios are by appointment only.

We liken our creation process with clients in our studios very much to a custom tattoo design experience, but with beautiful precious metal and stone (we only use solid materials that will stand the test of permanent wear – solid 14k gold and solid sterling silver – genuine stones set in solid 14k – we also weld heirloom chains that clients can bring in = BYOC or Bring your own chain). In our studio, clients have the ultimate creative freedom to create a truly custom piece that tells a story. Many clients or groups who come together will get a piece of each other’s chain to play with symbology, mix metals to play with color, or add stones to enhance energy and also meaning. It is a very special process that we are honored to share with our clients. Fine jewelry is inherently intimate, and creating it for someone on the spot, is even more intimate. We create a safe and luxurious space to house this process and make memories and jewelry that will last a lifetime.

Our studios and pop-ups also feature our sister company OnBeatVintage – Denver-based vintage brand created by our very own Lydia Peacock who runs our Cherry Creek studio. Her style is impeccable and her range makes her brand accessible to all sizes, ages, and walks of life!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Great question! Starting a business, especially in the midst of a pandemic is no easy feat for obvious reasons, especially given the state of our economy and sky-high prices for gold. However for us, it always has always been from the heart, and right place right time and we have been very blessed with a fairly clear path fueled by passion and synergy, even with those obstacles, and we have never doubted or looked back. We never imagined we would be where we are now, and we are so excited to see where we will be a year from now.

I also have another full-time job – I am the Vice President of a Real Estate Development firm in Boulder, and I also have two toddlers, so juggling all of that while my new business is thriving, has been a huge challenge for me personally. Fortunately, we have expanded to a team of four (almost five) and it certainly helps to have more hands!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in custom permanent jewelry – it is essentially 1:1 jewelry design on the spot. We have over 25 different chain styles (and are always adding new for our fellow addicts!) and even MORE genuine stone charm options, which makes the freedom of the design process (all priced per inch / per stone) very very exciting and unique.

We are known for our excellent client service and experience, as well as our unique offerings.

We are extremely proud of all of this because there is really nothing else out there like it. Another aspect that really sets us apart from other jewelers who offer this type of permanent jewelry, is that we weld the actual chains instead of a connector link, which is essentially a tiny jump ring that acts as a clasp that is welded closed. Therefore, our pieces are truly seamless and you cannot tell where they have been welded, which creatively, is very important to us. It certainly takes a greater amount of skill and knowledge to be able to offer this to our clients, but is very important to us and definitely something that sets us apart.

We are also excited to grow our offering into vintage 14k chains this summer with limited-edition drops. And lastly, the newest arm of our business which is digital engraving, launching this Fall 2022. We live to create that jewelry that you can’t live without, and digital engraving will help make our pieces that much more special.

How do you think about luck?
Luck and timing are EVERYTHING!
