Meet Sara Knoch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Knoch.

Sara Knoch

Hi Sara, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started about 20 years ago in my grandma’s garage, which is somewhat sentimental now that she just recently passed. I worked as a teacher and coached soccer, and at night, I came home and worked on building my business. I took a leap of faith one day, quit all those extra jobs, and did Sara Mica Design. In the fall of 2024, we will relocate to the Western Slope, Grand Junction. I will open a bloomtique so Mica and continue with Sara Mica Design.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story. Has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
I have been pretty lucky with what I have accomplished. For the most part, yes, it’s been a smooth road. Of course, there are bumps along the way. I worked many extra hours and jobs to fund the beginning of things, and I worked a lot of hours on multiple events and weddings to get my name out there. Now that I am in my 40s, I’m not sure how I did all that, but it was well worth it.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I focused on helping everyone and trying to accommodate other couples’ desires. I wanted everyone to have what they dreamed of and tried to work within their budget to give that to them. I still try these days; it’s much more complicated with Covid and inflation. Each year, I try to learn something new, read something new, and find a different strength.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I was born and raised in Denver, and I have always liked it here. Now that I am getting older, I look forward to moving somewhere new and trying new things. I have always wanted a boutique shop, and now I am getting the chance. Grand Junction, here we come!
