Savannah Halboth

Hi Savannah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Absolutely! My journey began in the picturesque landscapes of the Western Slope of Colorado, where my entrepreneurial spirit was ignited at a young age. While other kids were playing house, I was setting up my pretend office, barking orders into my make-believe phone, and tapping away on my cardboard computer. This early passion for business led me to pursue a marketing degree at Colorado Mesa University, graduating in 2010.

After exploring various roles in advertising sales, I quickly realized my true calling lay in entrepreneurship. In 2015, I took the leap and founded Social Savvy, aiming to support small businesses with their marketing needs. Through a model of contracting my services in exchange for a monthly fee, I began working closely with mom-and-pop establishments, leveraging my marketing expertise to help them thrive in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Fast forward nearly a decade, and I’m still going strong, serving a diverse portfolio of 14 clients, all of whom have come through word-of-mouth referrals. This journey has offered me the perfect balance of flexibility to raise my family while pursuing my passion for business growth. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Navigating the path of entrepreneurship has certainly had its share of bumps and hurdles. Like any worthwhile endeavor, the journey to where I am today has been far from smooth. One of the major challenges I’ve faced is the ever-evolving nature of social networks and digital marketing platforms. With constant changes and an increasingly crowded landscape, breaking through the noise and ensuring my clients’ messages are seen has become more challenging than ever.

Another struggle I’ve encountered is the temptation to always be available and working. With clients relying on me for ongoing support and guidance, it’s easy to feel the pressure to be constantly engaged. However, as my priorities have shifted, I’ve come to realize the importance of setting boundaries and taking time for myself and my family. Learning when to step back and say, “I’ll handle it on Monday,” has been a valuable lesson in maintaining balance and preserving my well-being amidst the demands of entrepreneurship.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe you can tell us more about your work next?
I specialize in social media and digital marketing, catering to both small businesses and national brands. What sets me apart is my customized approach to each client’s brand, showcasing what makes them unique and special. I’m known for my reliability and commitment to delivering on my promises, as well as my ability to think outside the box to find innovative solutions.

However, what I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built with my clients over the years. They’re more than just clients; they’re friends. We’ve formed a close-knit team where mutual understanding and respect are key. These strong relationships allow us to work together seamlessly, achieving our goals and driving success for their businesses.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I would have to say the most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is the value of adaptability. In the dynamic world of marketing and entrepreneurship, being able to pivot, innovate, and evolve with the ever-changing landscape is crucial for success. Whether it’s adjusting to new social media algorithms, responding to shifting consumer preferences, or balancing the demands of work and family life, the ability to adapt has been instrumental in overcoming challenges and seizing opportunities.

In addition to that, I’ve learned the importance of resilience and embracing change. Just as Colorado’s landscapes can vary from rugged mountains to serene valleys, life presents its own ups and downs. By staying resilient in the face of adversity and embracing change as an opportunity for growth, I’ve been able to navigate the complexities of both personal and professional life with grace and determination. Ultimately, the journey is not about avoiding obstacles but rather about how we choose to overcome them and emerge stronger on the other side.
