Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharayah Beecham.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Life shifted pretty drastically for me in August 2020. Up until this time, I was struggling tremendously with how to direct my path. I was deeply unhappy in my marriage, I hadn’t worked in eight years, and I didn’t know what I would do if I made the choice to leave. I was also plagued by feelings of purposelessness, anxiety, and lack of motivation. I was desperate to figure out what I was dealing with in a way that made sense of what I was experiencing. A friend of mine referred me to an energy healer and I started having sessions with her.
This was a life-changing decision as I began to understand myself and why I was experiencing such mental and emotional hardship. Little by little, I found a way to personal freedom that I didn’t think previously possible. In April of 2021, I met my Reiki Master teacher, Susan Chiocchi, and was blown away by her dedication, presence, and quality of teaching. I knew right away that what I wanted to do was replicate, in my own fashion, what she was doing in the healing space. Now, two years later, I have opened my own practice and feel so lucky to be where I am today.
Life is so worth trying to figure our way through its difficulties.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth. I think one of my personal struggles is comparing how my business is going versus the appearance of everyone else’s. I believe that business owners have this idea that growth is linear, that once started it’ll grow and that success is based on numbers. While there is truth to this, I’ve learned that there is greater complexity to being in the marketplace. Being in business is like forming an actual relationship that requires a value system.
It also has its ups and downs and I have to frequently remind myself of why I am here and what my commitments are. Another challenge for me has been trying to rush a process that isn’t meant to be hurried. Starting a business requires a lot of patience, a massive learning curve, and attention to many details all at once. I’m two years into the process and I’m still learning, every day about myself and what I need to know to be successful.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a Reiki Master, I consider myself an energy detective and therapist. What I mean by this is, when we are born, we have a bio-electromagnetic field that forms around our bodies. As we grow into adulthood, this field develops and it keeps records of our experiences, patterns, family issues, belief systems, and our views of the world. What is amazing is not only do we store memories in our heads but also in the aura surrounding our bodies! Even if we can’t remember something, the imprints of the past continue to live on in our energy bodies.
This is why I think sometimes change is hard for us to access with the mind because the blueprint of why we do what we do, is in our body/energy consciousness. The power of my intuition supports my clients’ own wisdom to ‘discover’ the roots of the issues they are having. The tools I have learned through my training are the reworking and clearing of old programming. It’s much like upgrading a computer’s software system to be more optimized.
The therapist part is in the conversations that I have with my clients to help them understand themselves to feel more empowered as they journey forward. The most rewarding part of my sessions is to see my clients get up off the table more clear-headed, grounded, and relaxed. Working with energy is a superpower as well as a tremendous gift. I truly love what I do.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Healing is not about fixing what is broken. It’s about tending to our wounds, allowing space for things long left in the dark, to see the light of day.
It’s this beautiful process of understanding ourselves so we can be more resilient to life challenges. To become so strong internally, that very little on the outside of us moves our peace. This is a process that can’t be rushed and often means turning around to face the demons we have long fled from.
