Meet Stacey Roma

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Roma.

Hi Stacey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I first picked up a camera back when in 2014. I had no prior knowledge or experience. I just knew I wanted to try photography for fun. Along the way, I did a lot of photoshoots for friends so I could practice and learn. There are a lot of bad pictures but those images were crucial in my learning of what does or doesn’t look good. I’m thankful for all the people that stood in front of my camera at some point because I wouldn’t be here without them!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been hard to find my footing and niche in the creative industry. There have been many moments that I have wanted to give up but I’m glad I haven’t. I really do enjoy photography and hearing people’s reactions when they get their photos. They make it worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I would consider myself more of a family photographer. I love capturing families and engaged couples. I’m known for being quick and efficient and giving my clients images they will cherish forever. I think what has set me apart from others is my flexibility and turnaround time. I want to make working with me as easy and smooth as possible. Regarding my style, I love making my images look timeless, which will outlast trends.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Youtube has been a great resource for me. I have found various channels that have great teaching videos when it comes to shooting and editing.
