Meet Velociriffer of South Pueblo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Velociriffer

Hi Velociriffer , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We have been friends for almost 20 years and music has been a thing that has brought us together and kept us together.
We started as a band back in high school and that original band ended up calling it quits after a couple years but every time one band ended We quickly found ourselves itching to get back to it.
The most recent of this happened a few years ago when we decided to form Velociriffer. This is a less serious band, at least lyrically than we have ever been before. The music writing is always taken seriously but we enjoy just having fun with what we are doing.
We got to where we are now by our friendship that makes us want to meet and write music and play together.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any band has struggles. We have come across many over the years. The most common struggle we face today is simply being adults. We all have responsibilities that we have to put first but the great thing about being so close is that we are able to find ways to get together.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in making killer riffs and putting out fun music. In the music scene, we are known for simply not taking ourselves too seriously. It’s a concert and we want people to have fun.
We are most proud of our full length album we put out in 2023 called Jurassic Beer. It’s an Homage to the things we loved growing up with songs like Power Rangers and Mars Attacks. It can be found on streaming service or if you follow us online you can check us out yourselves.
What generally separates us from everyone else is that fun atmosphere we bring. We just want to have fun and we think that shows in our music.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
We have a couple very avid readers in the band that eat up any book they can find with a compelling story. But we generally are fans of media as a whole. Books, shows, movies, comics and of course music are all big parts of our lives.
