Meet Victoria Dowers

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Dowers. Victoria was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Jha Allen.

Victoria, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
I’m from New York and Jha is from Houston. Back in 2017, I was researching the hashtag #dadhat on Instagram. I came across a really cool dad hat with a globe on it (and I’m passionate about travel). I immediately knew that I wanted the hat, so I DM’d the account and asked how I could purchase the hat. They had let me know that I would be the first customer to purchase from them. At the time, Jha was working with her best friend who ran the Instagram account and brand that was selling the hat.

From then, we all started following each other. About a year or so later, I saw Jha post on her Instagram story that she needed an editor. At the time, I was fresh out of college and simply looking for different opportunities. I told her I was interested in working with her, and we have been working together ever since.

Jha founded an organization, Connections Hub, which is a community hub for entrepreneurs. I would help Jha by editing social media posts, eventbrites, proposals and more. I even flew out to attend an event in Houston, and that is the only time I’ve ever met Jha in person. However, I talk to Jha more than any of my other contacts.

We now work together daily on building her business, Jha Allen LLC, and we still work together on Connections Hub in a constructive capacity to solidify the foundation of both.

Jha is a hustler and I respect her so much. She is my golden business partner.

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I come from a travel public relations background, and I currently work with entrepreneurs from a variety of niches to help develop their branding and boost visibility through social media. My passion for immersive travel has taught me how to be analytical, intentional and a sponge of experiences and information. I am an incredible listener with great emotional intelligence. I’ve found myself helping people develop and organize their ideas fully in a constructive manner. I help dreamers and creatives ground their projects with step-by-step thought-out processes. I love helping entrepreneurs who have true passion for their business share their message and story in a strategized manner. I think that they deserve to have their stories shared with the world.

Jha Allen has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Jha and your experience with them.
As explained in a previous question, I found Jha through a hashtag about 4-5 years ago. At the time I was based in New York and Jha is based out of Houston. I was looking for a dad hat with the hashtag #dadhat on Instagram. I found a hat that I liked and contacted the account to purchase the hat. The owner, one of Jha’s life-long friends, Troy, had just launched his Takeover Movement t-shirts and hats. I just so happened to be their first customer. Jha was helping him with the brand at the time, and that is how I came into communication with Jha. We began following each other on Instagram for a while until I saw Jha share that she was looking for an editor. I was a new college graduate simply looking for any opportunity for growth and income. I replied to Jha’s Instagram story and let her know I was interested. We’ve been working together ever since. It started off as a side-hustle, and about 5 years later, Jha and I have been going strong in a partnership of building her business Jha Allen LLC and organization Connections Hub.

Jha is my business partner, mentor and entrepreneur role model. She has a hustle that is truly unmatched and walks with admirable confidence in her purpose and direction. Jha is self-taught, values education, cares deeply about her network and is aligned with the direction of the digital world. In the few years that Jha and I have worked together, I’ve seen her help multiple entrepreneurs build their online branding through her incredible expertise in marketing and branding strategies. We continue to grow our services, offerings and expertise as a pair. Her vision is focused and clear to help as many entrepreneurs as she can by connecting them to the right resources, services, and people.

Jha is extremely professional, thoughtful, clever and creative with her clients and work.
As a leader, she is incredibly patient, consistent and direct. She looks to truly pull out the best of her team members, gives constructive criticism and maintains an environment on her team that makes us proud of our individual and collective work. Jha has changed my entrepreneurial journey in a way that I wouldn’t have imagined, and I absolutely love her and her purpose.
