We recently had the chance to connect with Rhett Haney and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Rhett, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Now that I have some original songs recorded, a lot of folks are starting to suggest my band go out on tour instead of just performing locally
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Rhett Haney. I am the lead singer/basis of the denver-based original/cover country/rock music project, “Rhett Haney”. We perform all around the region on a full-time basis. We bring a stage show unlike any other regional act in the area and that we introduce some really cool visual aspects to our performance. Currently working on some new originals to likely be released in 2026!
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I was taught, and believed that “in America you can be whatever you want to be“. I’ve always wanted to be a very well known musician. I have discovered it’s much more difficult to achieve that goal than I originally anticipated. Even with all of my hard work, blood, sweat, and tears I still feel like I have a long way to go to achieve this.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Almost giving up is at least a monthly occurrence for me. But, because I love performing so much I’m always brought back to reality and just continue with my passion.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the music industry is that you can achieve your goals and dreams simply by being good at what you do. NOT the case. It is ABSOLUTELY based on who you know and whose butt you kiss!
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
One of the biggest goals, if not THE biggest goal I have in life is to perform at red rocks amphitheater here in Colorado. I have and always will regret not having the opportunity to perform there.
