Today we’d like to introduce you to Alana Boscoe
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
TheColoradoGal started as a passion project. As a fourth-generation Denverite, I’ve always had a deep love for Colorado—its local businesses, incredible food scene, and endless adventures. What began as me sharing my experiences on Instagram slowly turned into a thriving community of people who love this state as much as I do.
Over time, my page gained traction, and I realized there was a real demand for curated recommendations, local business spotlights, and engaging content about things to do in Colorado. I leaned into that, focusing on authenticity and storytelling. My background in marketing also played a huge role, helping me grow my platform strategically while staying true to my voice.
Now, TheColoradoGal has evolved into more than just a social page—it’s a trusted resource for locals and visitors alike. I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with amazing brands, spotlight small businesses, and build connections that I never imagined when I first started. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited for what’s next!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road—but I think that’s what makes the journey so rewarding. When I first started TheColoradoGal, I was just sharing my experiences without any real strategy. Growing the platform into what it is today took a lot of trial and error, from figuring out how to create engaging content to navigating the ever-changing social media algorithms.
One of the biggest challenges has been balancing my passion for content creation with the business side of things. Learning how to pitch to brands, set fair rates, and establish partnerships that align with my audience took time. There were moments of self-doubt, especially when I felt like I wasn’t growing as fast as I wanted or when a post didn’t perform as expected.
Another struggle has been staying authentic in a space that’s constantly evolving. Social media can sometimes push creators to follow trends just for engagement, but I’ve always prioritized staying true to my voice and focusing on the local community. That’s something I’m really proud of, even when it means turning down opportunities that don’t fit my brand.
Despite the challenges, every setback has been a learning experience, and I wouldn’t change the journey. Seeing TheColoradoGal grow into a trusted resource for locals and visitors makes it all worth it!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Through TheColoradoGal, I create content that helps people experience the best of Colorado—whether it’s discovering a new restaurant, exploring hidden gems, or finding unique local events. My focus is on curating immersive experiences and connecting people with the local businesses and communities that make this state special.
I specialize in storytelling and engagement, making my content feel authentic, relatable, and informative. My background in marketing plays a big role in how I approach content creation—I don’t just post; I think strategically about what resonates with my audience and how to foster real connections.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the community I’ve built. TheColoradoGal isn’t just about me—it’s about the people who trust my recommendations, share their own experiences, and engage in meaningful conversations. I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with incredible brands, help small businesses gain visibility, and even bring people together in real life through events and experiences.
What sets me apart is my deep-rooted connection to Colorado. As a fourth-generation Denverite, I don’t just cover the latest trendy spots—I bring a unique perspective that blends nostalgia, history, and a genuine love for this state. I focus on quality over quantity, ensuring that every recommendation feels intentional and valuable.
At the end of the day, my goal is to make TheColoradoGal a go-to resource for anyone looking to experience Colorado in a fun, authentic, and meaningful way.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think luck has played a role in my journey, but more in the sense of the incredible people and experiences I’ve been fortunate enough to come across. Being able to connect with small business owners, hear their stories, and share them with my community feels like the best kind of luck. I’ve met so many passionate people who pour their hearts into what they do, from the bakery owner who wakes up at 3 AM to make the perfect croissant to the family-run shop that’s been part of Denver for generations.
I also feel lucky to have grown up here, to have such a deep connection to this city and state. Getting to explore and share all the things I love—whether it’s a new hiking spot, a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, or a longtime local favorite—never feels like “work.” TheColoradoGal has given me the chance to see my home through fresh eyes and appreciate it in new ways.
Of course, not everything is luck—there’s been a lot of hard work, trial and error, and putting myself out there. But at the end of the day, I feel really grateful for the experiences this journey has brought me and the community that’s grown along the way.
