Rising Stars: Meet Alex Gallegos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Gallegos. 

Hi Alex, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always loved film and I am still so inspired by it which I think had a huge influence on me growing up that lead me to become a photographer. Same goes with music, which was always playing in the background. A lot of times when I’m listening to music is when I get a spark of an idea, which then leads to a feeling that I then sometimes tie it into certain photos I take. I got my first camera when I was around maybe 7 years old and started taking photos here and there. But it wasn’t until I got my first film camera in high school where I started to capture moments in my everyday life more frequently. Ever since then, my passion has grown and I am able to expand my horizon on the moments I capture. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say overall yes! At first, It was challenging putting my work out there for others to see when I first started. Especially when I started to take photography more seriously. But luckily, I overcame that haha. 

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a music, portrait, and candid film photographer. I have been surrounded by music my entire life and discovered just a few years back that I can combine my two most creative outlets into one which is photography and music! I also love to collage and to express my creative drive through it. I would say overall my most proud moment would be being able to show my creativity through my photography. 

What’s next?
My plans for the future would be being able to do photography full time! I hope to become a Creative Director and to collaborate with artists.
