Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandria Reed.
Hi Alexandria, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
At my core, I am a storyteller. We are all storytellers, aren’t we? Family history. Gossip. Personal testimonies. Jokes. Telling stories is how we connect as humanity. We discover truths and unity, compassion and solidarity. We find our authenticity. The way we tell our stories may differ, but we are all on this journey together, sharing our lives and discovering how to be our true selves through the connections we make and experiences we have. Truly, all of our stories are interwoven, given and crafted through Grace. And this is my passion; to serve others through creating safe spaces for all of our stories to be shared!
My storytelling comes from several sources, including a joyful career in Real Estate, my accessible and inspirational lifestyle website and blog, plus my practical and refreshingly human podcast, GladiateBeautifully. Whether I am mentoring other mamas on being resolute and self-compassionate, intentional parents (AND wives AND bosses -because you can be all of it, sis!), or staging a home to tell the seller’s story, I get to share in someone else’s journey. When I am exploring a client’s dream for their future place to rest or providing a platform for others like myself to share their stories, I get to open doors for connection. While I hunt down insider deals or offer killer insight to trends, I get to join my sisters as they reconnect to their individuality with style and confidence. In all I do, I hope to serve others and bring a spark of joy into their days.
The first story I can tell is my own and it begins in Tennessee, where I was born. Now I live in Colorado and have been here so long; my heart feels like a native. Every day I am blessed to be the mama of my two sweet, vivacious daughters and partner in crime to my husband of over ten years. When I am not weaving the strands of family and career success, I actively volunteer for my church and various non-profits. The only way to keep up the energy it takes to be this flawed and fabulous is dancing through it with a coke zero in one hand and a piping hot coffee in the other. Throw in a good mom joke and a greasy street taco, and I will Run. The. World. — With intention and grace and I believe you’re capable of this existence too.
So, this is it! I am a Story Teller, a lover of Jesus, a Survivor, A champion of women, a Door Opener and a Gladiator. As are you! And I want you to join me here as often as you need to, to find inspiration, to count your blessings and to find your place of rest. I pray you join me as we share our stories in celebration of our tenacity, uniqueness, and truly authentic selves.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Oh Gosh, no! My mental health was a challenge between the depression and anxiety, years of infertility and miscarriages, along with the deconstruction and reconstruction of my faith!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I really believe my specialty and what I am know for is in storytelling and giving others a platform to share theirs. I’m really proud of my podcast and the community that is being built around it.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
It’s interesting because I don’t know that I have a favorite childhood memory. I think trauma suppressed a lot of my memories but I do have a childhood scent that is my favorite. It is the smell of fresh cotton and homemade canned peaches.
