Rising Stars: Meet Amber Grob and Jenna DeRosa of Wheat Ridge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Grob and Jenna DeRosa.

Hi Amber and Jenna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We started about four years ago, initially providing therapy and medication management for our shared patients. At first, we worked primarily with private insurance plans, and this year we expanded to include Medicaid as well. Over time, we’ve grown to offer esketamine therapy, added four therapists to our team, and most recently introduced TMS. We also welcomed our new Nurse Practitioner, Annabel Gonzalez-Mackenzie, who spent about a year with us as a student before joining the practice.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting a private practice in Colorado is relatively straightforward, but working with insurance companies can be challenging and time-consuming. Still, it was really important to us to partner with insurance providers, since that’s how most people access mental health care. We believe patients should be able to use their insurance benefits to get the services they need. Adding advanced treatments like Spravato and TMS has brought its own set of start-up and coverage hurdles, but it’s been worth it to expand access to those options.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We’re very proud of the team we’ve built and how collaboratively we work—often with multiple members of the same family. I provide medication management and work with children, adolescents, individuals with substance use concerns, and those with complex medical and psychiatric diagnoses. I also oversee our Spravato and TMS services. Our therapist, Jenna DeRosa, focuses primarily on severe trauma. She works with many individuals navigating various stages of domestic violence and provides a tremendous source of strength and support for them. Jenna Garzoni is another therapist on our team. She works with children, adolescents, and adults, including those with substance use issues. With her background in the criminal justice system and federal organizations, she truly brings a broad and adaptable skill set—she can do it all. Emma Fitzpatrick is our substance use counselor and is currently completing her certification in marriage and family therapy. She sees a large number of couples and families, and her insight into relationship dynamics has been a great asset to our clinic. Sara Holing works with clients across all ages, though she often sees pre-teens and adults navigating later life transitions. Her balanced and compassionate approach resonates deeply with her clients. Kelsey Anderson, our newest team member, is truly the heart of the clinic—she keeps everything running smoothly. Kelsey manages Spravato and TMS sessions, scheduling, and coordination. She’s also a certified yoga instructor and leads a free monthly yoga class that our patients really enjoy. Finally, our new Nurse Practitioner, Annabel Gonzalez-Martinez, is a familiar face, having trained with us during her clinical rotations. She brings extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and individuals in eating disorder recovery. Annabel is currently accepting new patients and sees all ages

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next five to ten years, I think mental health care will continue moving toward greater accessibility and integration. We’re seeing more recognition that mental health is just as important as physical health, and new treatments like TMS and Spravato are expanding what recovery can look like. Technology and telehealth will keep improving access, but the biggest shift will be toward whole-person, collaborative care that combines therapy, medication, and lifestyle support
