Rising Stars: Meet Audra Ferraro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Audra Ferraro.

Hi Audra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always liked everything about “beauty,” but never really thought about doing it for a living.  In my “past life,” I worked in home health care and loved caring for others. Back in 2015 my husband and I had our first child, Vincent, but were quickly saddened to learn he was born with aortic valve stenosis, which would require emergency surgery following his birth and two additional heart procedures before he turned one. Safe to say our lives changed dramatically, so I stopped working entirely to take care of Vincent full-time.

It wasn’t soon after dealing with Vincent’s heart defect, we also discovered he had developed asthma; altogether we spent more than 2 years in and out of hospitals. There’s nothing more challenging or hurtful to see your child in pain and struggling, wanting nothing more than to make it go away. Being a mom is the hardest job in the world but also the most rewarding and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. In 2017 we found some relief with alternative treatments for Vincent and were blessed to learn we were soon expecting our second child, a healthy girl, we named Frankie. It had been over seven years since I had any thought of going back to work, but that all changed one day when I saw an advertisement on IG about spray tanning. I thought this could be my new calling, but how could I incorporate my passion for helping others with my love of all things “beauty?” And how could I stand out in such a vast and competitive industry?

My mind kept taking me back to home health where the care I provided was more personal and convenient for the patient. I wondered why not take this approach to spray tanning and offer a mobile, convenient service in the comfort of the client’s home. So, I started journaling, researching, writing down business names, ideas, and manifesting – – Sun in a Gun mobile spray tans was created! I love what I am doing and am passionate about making others feel and look amazing! I’ve never had this much confidence and drive outside of being a mom.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a business owner there are always going to be ups and downs. For the most part, it has been smooth, and no real struggles so far.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a mobile spray tan artist giving a customized, luxurious, and quality spray tan in the comfort of the client’s preferred location.

I am most proud of making my clients feel comfortable and confident while choosing the perfect solution for their skin tone.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My children, husband, dogs, and, of course, my career.
