Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna Wommack.
Hi Breanna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My business partner, Justin, and I first met Matthew Estrin while we were living and working next door to his business, 477 Distilling, in Greeley, Colorado. Over time, we got to know him, and he eventually introduced us to his former business partners, Austin and Janna Jenkins.
Through that connection, Matt, Austin and Janna approached us with an opportunity to manage a new cocktail bar in our hometown of Fort Morgan. It felt like the right opportunity at the right time—Justin and I had always planned to move back home eventually, and this gave us the perfect reason to make that transition.
We accepted the offer and moved back to Fort Morgan in November 2022. From there, we jumped into the process of helping the owners build out the space, developing the cocktail menu, and shaping the vision for what would become After Hours Cocktail Bar. We officially opened the doors in February 2023 and managed the bar through April 2025.
In early 2025, we began the process of purchasing the business from the owners. It was a big step, but one that felt like a natural evolution of everything we had helped build. On May 16th, 2025, we officially rebranded and reopened under new ownership.
We’re incredibly grateful to Matt, Austin, and Janna—not only for the opportunity they gave us, but also for laying the foundation of craft cocktail culture here in Morgan County. We’re proud to carry that legacy forward and continue growing the scene in our community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, it’s been a smooth road. But like any small business, we’ve definitely had our challenges. There are always ups and downs, especially during slower seasons or when you’re working to build a consistent customer base. It’s also a balancing act between staying true to what our business is about—craft cocktails and quality service—while also keeping things fresh and evolving to meet customer expectations.
Another ongoing challenge has been building visibility in our community. Even though Fort Morgan isn’t a large town, we’ve learned that it still takes a lot of effort to make sure people know who we are and what we offer. We’ve been operating in the same location for over three years now, and I still meet people who have never heard of us or don’t know where we’re located. That’s why community outreach, events, and just word of mouth are so important to us. We’re always working on finding new ways to connect with the people around us.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Moonlight Cocktail Bar is a true owner-operated business, and our core team is made up of five dedicated individuals. Justin Griffith and I (Breanna Wommack) are the owners, and we work alongside our amazing staff—Julie Stiewig, Brent Kinnison, and Annabelle Kelley. Between the five of us, we handle everything from regular bar shifts to private on-site events, monthly happenings like Bingo and Trivia Nights, and large-scale community events like Food Truck Friday and local markets.
What really sets us apart is our versatility and chemistry as a team. Whether it’s a cozy, quiet night or a packed community event, our staff knows how to adapt, keep things running smoothly, and make every guest feel welcome. We’re proud to say that everyone on our team has been with us for two years or more, which really speaks to the trust, professionalism, and consistency we’ve built together.
We specialize in craft cocktails and take pride in offering a thoughtfully curated menu, but we also serve a full bar including draft and bottled beer, wine, classic cocktails, mocktails, bar snacks, and a standout whiskey selection.
Aside from the drinks, we’re known for our atmosphere. Most nights, it’s a calm and relaxed space where people can unwind—but on event nights, we know how to turn it up and bring the energy. That balance is something we’re really proud of: creating a place that feels welcoming and fun, whether you’re winding down or gearing up for a night out.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We love collaborating and partnering with others—especially when it helps bring the community together and supports local businesses. Over the years, we’ve teamed up with a variety of organizations and events, from working with our local radio station for the Bobstock Reveal Party, to supporting the Morgan Community College Gala, which raises significant funds for education. We’ve also worked with the local Chamber of Commerce on their annual New Teacher event, and partnered with The Block Commissary Kitchen and Events on several community-centered activities.
There’s always room for more collaboration. Whether you’re a fellow small business, nonprofit, or community group, we believe in finding creative ways to grow together. If you have an idea—big or small—we’d love to hear it. Just reach out, and we’re happy to see how we can make something happen.
