Rising Stars: Meet Chrisy Boldra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrisy Boldra.

Hi Chrisy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My 23-year career as a dental hygienist has given me the experience to provide the most comfortable and thorough care to my patients. In 2015 I decided to open my dental hygiene practice. I wanted to provide exceptional care to my patients without the restraints of a typical dentist’s office. I can now offer patients preventative dental care at a much lower cost for every appointment.

My patients will always know who is going to provide their dental care and I also customize the appointment to fit my patients’ needs. My emphasis on patient comfort allows me to spend more time with my patients and provide special touches to make the appointment more enjoyable. Healthy Smiles Hygiene is a stress-free environment because there is no restorative dentistry here which means no drilling noise.

I do not have a dentist on-site so you can relax as there will be no pressure into doing any dental work. I will identify any areas that need a dentist’s attention and work closely with several in the area. My referring dentists will also see my patients at no charge to diagnose treatment of any areas of concern. Your healthy smile is my priority!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building my practice’s patient clientele was slow at first but now I have many loyal patients that come from other states and even other countries to see me for their dental care. Covid was a struggle, closing my practice for 2 months and preparing for the increase in PPE requirements.

Healthy Smiles Hygiene is a preventative dental care practice that puts patient comfort as its highest priority. Aromatherapy with essential oils is used to put patients at ease during their appointment. Special touches we have for our patients include memory foam cushioned chairs, blankets, and a choice of music played.

Services that are provided here are adult and child teeth cleaning, exam, and digital x-rays. Periodontal treatment consists of conservative gum disease therapy makes treatment of inflamed/bleeding gums and bone loss easier for the patient physically and financially. I also offer Silver Diamine Fluoride which is a treatment for reversing small cavities without having to drill. In-office teeth whitening that can whiten 2 to 5 shades in one visit is another service I provide as well as others.

Who else deserves credit for your story?
My mentors are independent dental hygienists with successful practices. My patients following me in my career and their continuing loyalty have been huge in my success.
