Hi Cruz, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Chuchi’s Events started with a passion for creating joyful, memorable moments, especially for our own family celebrations. We’ve always had a creative, entrepreneurial spirit, and we soon realized that bringing our unique touch to these gatherings was something we truly loved doing. With that spark, we decided to turn our love for celebrations into a family business, naming it in honor of Cruz, the heart of our team. Our mission at Chuchi’s Events is to transform each celebration into a cherished memory, adding warmth, creativity, and joy to every occasion we touch.

Being a family-run business, each one of us has a role. Jhocelyn, with her background in broadcasting and digital media, oversees all our communications, marketing, and social media, helping share our story and connect with our clients. Fidencio and Enrique, along with Hector, take on the heavy lifting and skilled woodworking, crafting the setups and details that make our events special. And Cruz, as our creative spirit, is the mind behind the vision that makes Chuchi’s Events unique.

Every event we approach with the same excitement as our first, pouring our heart and soul into each setup. It’s not just work for us—it’s a chance to be a part of someone’s special day, and we’re honored to make those moments unforgettable.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One example of a challenge we’ve faced, like any small family-run business, is finding balance. Long nights and extensive preparation go into every event, and it can be tough to carve out personal time outside of the business. Our passion for what we do keeps us motivated, but managing the time and energy it takes has definitely been a learning experience. These challenges have taught us the importance of pacing ourselves and staying committed to the quality and care we put into each event.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Chuchi’s Events, we’re all about making your celebration as fun and stress-free as possible! We’re your one-stop shop in the Denver Metro Area for everything party-related, from balloon décor and backdrop rentals to tables, chairs, modern inflatables, and even our viral bubble house gender reveals. We love being able to handle all the details so you can focus on enjoying the moment.

What makes us different? We put our heart into every setup, bringing a personal touch and creative flair to make each event feel truly special. We’re proud of the memories we help create and love seeing the joy on our clients’ faces when they see everything come together. For us, it’s all about making sure you have an unforgettable day with zero stress—just show up and celebrate!

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
In running a business, especially a family-owned one like Chuchi’s Events, taking risks has been part of the journey. We believe that risk is often where growth happens. One major risk we took was expanding our services to include things like our modern inflatables and bubble house gender reveals. We weren’t sure if these would catch on, but we decided to go for it because we saw the potential for creating unique, memorable experiences that people wouldn’t easily find elsewhere.

There’s always a bit of uncertainty when you put resources into new offerings, but we trust our vision and our clients’ feedback. Taking that leap has paid off in helping us stand out and grow, and it’s shown us that calculated risks, even if a bit scary at first, can lead to exciting new opportunities. So while we’re thoughtful about each decision, we’ve learned to embrace risk as part of building something special.
