Rising Stars: Meet Dani Wolfe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dani Wolfe.

Hi Dani, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I moved to Colorado Springs in 2017 and didn’t know a soul. I took a lot of photos (mostly of food) as I explored my new city and created an Instagram account called “AboutTheSprings” both for fun and to share my experiences as a transplant. It was then that I met other local bloggers, got to know the community, and started to feel really at home in this freakin’ rad city. There is this sense of support and community among the local small businesses here that I’ve never experienced in any other city I’ve lived in. It’s electric!

About The Springs gained momentum and I realized I really enjoyed working with small businesses on social media. In January of 2021, I started my social media management agency Barred Rock Social.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Moving to a new city is always challenging. And I was starting from scratch (in more ways than one). I dipped my toes in other entrepreneurial efforts that didn’t pan out. I’ve definitely failed a couple of times. But I kept trying and I finally found my niche. Now I get to do what I love, control my own schedule, and meet all sorts of incredible, business-minded people!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a content creator for About The Springs. I take the photos, shoot the videos, and write the words. My husband Robert stars in a lot of my content, so I definitely consider him a very important part of the brand. He’s hilarious and I guess my muse. The camera loves him.

I am most known for making content about local food and restaurants, though I’m branching out and I really enjoy hyping other types of local Colorado businesses.

My agency Barred Rock Social provides social media management and content creation to small businesses all over the country, from food & beverage to beauty & fashion.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Denver
Best: The food!
Least: The traffic.

Colorado Springs
Best: The community and people.
Least: The lack of a proper Nordstrom.
