Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Montana Ali.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It really all started with house parties, and it’s crazy that I remember the exact party I told myself I could do this for real. It was the summer going into my college sophomore year and I had bought a DJ controller to just mess around with. Started practicing every day after class in my apartment and I ended up falling in love with it. From there, it was up. I started getting booked to DJ all the school events and parties then different schools throughout the state. From that point, I started building the team and that’s when the brand started growing. It’s been a process to get to this position though, a lot of ups and downs. But how I got to where I am, I think it’s been my dedication to what I want, my grind and hard work, and my drive to always keep going no matter what.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can’t do nothing but laugh at that question lol, it ain’t been nothing close to a smooth road. I’ll say the biggest struggle has been continuing to keep going when you feel like everything is against you and it’s not worth it anymore. But what keeps me going is how bad I want it and knowing how far I’ve come. I constantly remind myself what’s worth having doesn’t come easy, so that helps me keep my head up and push forward.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a DJ and CEO of OnDemand Entertainment, a powerhouse of individuals coming together to help artists advance their careers. I’ve traveled as a tour DJ, gained over 10 million mixtape streams, and worked in radio for over five years. Our mission at OnDemand is to provide guidance, leadership, and support for artists. We focus on helping artists succeed not only in their entertainment field but also as entrepreneurs building a legacy. Our passion for working with upcoming and overlooked artists is what sets us apart. Everyone on our team has been in the position of being upcoming in their field and overlooked, so we know the feeling and understand the drive it takes. We focus on using our platform to give artists a chance at making an impact in the music industry.
How do you think about luck?
I’ve actually never liked when people refer to luck being the reason for success, I feel like it takes away from the hard work it took to actually achieve that success. So I can’t say how luck has played a role, but I definitely believe everything is already in God’s plan.
