Rising Stars: Meet Enki Nichols of Lone Tree

Today we’d like to introduce you to Enki Nichols

Enki, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey to becoming the proud owner of Lone Tree Aesthetics Med Spa is one of passion, perseverance, and a love for helping others feel confident in their own skin.

In 2008, I moved from Albania directly to Colorado, driven by my dream of working as a travel nurse here in US. After passing my nursing boards, I began my career in gastroenterology, working for South Denver GI until 2013 and later for Kaiser GI. While I loved my work, I found myself struggling with adult acne—a challenge that deeply impacted my confidence.

I became determined to improve my skin, which led me to discover the transformative world of aesthetics. In 2019, fueled by my newfound passion and a desire to help others on their skincare journeys, I partnered with a fellow RN to open a med spa. This was the first step toward realizing a bigger dream.

In February 2023, I took a leap of faith and opened my own med spa,
Lone Tree Aesthetics. This solo venture has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I now get to combine my love for skincare with my dedication to my clients, helping them achieve their aesthetic goals and feel their best.

Owning Lone Tree Aesthetics is more than a career—it’s my calling, and I couldn’t be prouder of how far I’ve come. I love what I do and the incredible clients I have the privilege to work with every day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning your own business is never a smooth road :
There struggles along the way all the time like :
My Striving for Perfection
Which is a struggle to aim for perfect results for every client, but this can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Not every skin type or case responds the same way, and managing both expectations and results has been a learning process.

The Weight of Being a Solo Owner:
Running a med spa on ny own means wearing many hats: practitioner, scheduler, manager, marketer, ( social media manager) and more, I do everything my self .
Balancing client care with business operations has been a challenge, especially when unexpected issues arise.

Building Trust and Reputation:
Transitioning from a nursing career in GI to aesthetics came with the challenge of proving my skills in a new field and gaining the trust of clients in a competitive industry.

My Personal Struggles with Adult Acne:
My own struggles with acne were deeply personal, and while they inspired my journey, they also meant navigating moments of insecurity while helping others feel confident in their skin.

Finding My Work-Life Balance:
As a solo entrepreneur, it’s easy to work long hours and prioritize my clients above my own well-being. Learning to create boundaries and take care of my self and my family hasn’t always been easy.

Financial Risks and Uncertainty:
Opening my own business, especially after stepping away from a partnership, came with significant financial risks. Investing in my med spa required not just money but faith in my abilities.

Handling the Emotional Weight:
Aesthetic work often has an emotional component, as clients trust you to help them feel better about their appearance. Carrying the emotional weight of my clients’ hopes and expectations can be taxing.

Staying Updated in a Rapidly Evolving Industry:
The aesthetics industry evolves quickly with new treatments, technologies, and trends. Staying educated and ahead of the curve as a solo provider requires constant effort and investment.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Lone Tree Aesthetics Med Spa, I specialize in providing personalized aesthetic treatments designed to help my clients feel confident and radiant in their own skin. My services include advanced skincare treatments such as Botox, PRP dermafillers, and more all tailored to address each client’s unique needs and goals.

What sets me apart is my deeply personal connection to this work. My journey began with my own struggle with adult acne and hyperpigmentation which not only inspired me to pursue aesthetics but also gave me a deep empathy for my clients. I understand firsthand how transformative skincare can be—not just physically, but emotionally—and I bring that understanding to every treatment.

I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients. As a solo owner, I have the privilege of working closely with each person who walks through my door, ensuring they receive individualized care and exceptional results. I strive for perfection in everything I do because I know how important it is for my clients to feel heard, understood, and cared for.

What truly sets Lone Tree Aesthetics apart is the combination of my medical background as a nurse, my dedication to continuous learning, and the personal passion I bring to my work. This isn’t just a business for me—it’s a calling, and I’m so grateful to make a positive impact on the lives of my clients.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories takes me back to when I was just 8 or 9 years old. I’ve always been drawn to beauty and skincare, but I think my love for it truly began with a small, mischievous moment. My best friend at the time “borrowed” a face cream from her mom and gifted it to me so I could try it. I remember being so excited, holding that little jar as if it were the most magical thing in the world.

That was my first introduction to skincare, and I instantly fell in love. Even at such a young age, I was fascinated by the idea of self-care and how something so simple could make you feel special. Looking back, it’s funny how such a small act planted the seed for a lifelong passion that would eventually lead me to open my own med spa.
