Rising Stars: Meet Estephani

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Estephani.

Hi Estephani, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I started making music in my senior year of high school. I did it for fun with friends, but we took it a step further and uploaded it onto SoundCloud, which got a bit of momentum!

Many of my peers would push me to pursue music, but I was very iffy about it at first as I come from a household that strongly discouraged me from doing anything that didn’t involve college. I tried my best to juggle all tasks simultaneously as I went to college full time, worked full time, and perused music half time.

Looking back at it, I really regret treating music as my last option when it’s always been my passion. As much as I tried to prioritize things that were considered “important,” I always found myself going back to music.

I consider this stage of my career to be the very beginning as I still have a lot more work to do, but the things I had to do to get to where I am now were doing shows and posting music with content! I’m still figuring out the ropes of everything, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to push forward.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Just like anything in life, there’s always ups and downs to everything. Sometimes, there are more downs than ups in this career, but the ups definitely make up for the bad things.

I tend to be a picky artist with everything I do such as cover art, quality of my music, my aesthetic as well as the people i collaborate with. This tends to make my route harder to navigate, as I sometimes find myself in an uncomfortable position.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m known as a singer by the name ESTEPHANI.

I like to write, sing, perform, act, and direct. I’m most proud of my art. It feels surreal seeing people be comforted by my music the same way it has comforted me!

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Definitely happiness and perseverance! Without those things, it’s hard to keep going.
