Hi gage, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
i’ve always been an artist and always been creative. I’d always wanted to find something career wise that would allow me the freedom to still be creative in my own way. i rolled into my first tattoo shop when I was eight years old with my ma while she got tattooed. One of the artists there and gave me a full sleeve with a sharpie and I was hooked ever since. I knew from then on out that I wanted a tattoo and being part of the industry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I feel like the best things in life never have the smoothest roads. I’ve definitely had quite a bit of my own challenges. Finding a “good” apprenticeship was extremely difficult. Ask many tattoo artists about their apprenticeships and you will hear more horror stories than you will positive ones. I’ve also recently moved to Denver and restarting has been another major obstacle.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
i specialize in brightly colored tattoos and glitter tattoos! i love doing dinosaur projects as well and am most proud of the ones i’ve done so far.

What makes you happy?
drawing and creating with my fiancé! were both artists and spend a lot of our free time finding different ways to create things. i’m currently starting a disco ball dinosaur skull!
