Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Bueno.
Hi Linda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Dulcería Bom Bon started from my love for Mexican culture, traditions, and the joy that candy brings to people of all ages. What began as a small idea quickly grew as I saw how much our community missed authentic Mexican sweets and snacks.
I started by sharing traditional candies with family and friends, and through word of mouth and community support, the business continued to grow. Over time, Dulcería Bom Bon became more than just a candy shop—it became a place where people feel connected to their roots, their childhood, and their culture.
Today, I’m proud to continue growing Dulcería Bom Bon while supporting local events, families, and the community that has supported me from the beginning.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has not been completely smooth. Like many small businesses, I faced challenges such as learning the business side, managing finances, sourcing products, and building consistent visibility in the community. Balancing entrepreneurship with personal and work responsibilities was also a challenge at times.
However, each obstacle became a learning experience. Through persistence, community support, and a willingness to adapt, those challenges helped me grow stronger and more confident as a business owner. They’ve shaped how I operate Dulcería Bom Bon today and motivated me to keep moving forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Dulcería Bom Bon, I specialize in offering authentic Mexican candies, snacks, and treats that celebrate culture, tradition, and nostalgia. My focus is on providing high quality, hard to find sweets that remind people of home, childhood, and family traditions.
I’m known for creating a welcoming, joyful experience where customers feel a personal connection not just to the products, but to the culture behind them. I take pride in carefully selecting items, supporting community events, and making each customer feel valued.
What I’m most proud of is building a business that brings happiness and cultural pride to our community while growing from the ground up through hard work and support. What sets Dulcería Bom Bon apart is the heart behind it this isn’t just a candy shop, it’s a place where culture, community, and tradition come together.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see the candy and specialty snack industry continuing to grow in ways that celebrate cultural diversity and authentic experiences. People are increasingly seeking unique, high quality, and nostalgic products that reflect their heritage or introduce them to new tastes.
In particular, Mexican candy and traditional sweets are gaining broader recognition beyond just local markets, with more customers curious about traditional flavors, artisanal products, and culturally meaningful treats. I also expect growth in online sales, social media driven trends, and community events as ways to reach new customers.
Sustainability and transparency will also shape the industry customers want to know where products come from and support businesses with values that align with their own. For Dulcería Bom Bon, this means continuing to adapt, innovate, and build connections while staying true to the traditions that make our products special.
