Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggi Schultheis.

Maggi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Maggi Schultheis, Magnetik Moon, began dancing at the age of three. She has studied tap, jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, hip hop, flow arts, fire spinning, and Bellydance. Raised in a family of musicians, she was always encouraged to live passionately and to follow her dreams. Born in Pittsburgh, raised in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, then made her way to Atlanta, GA. Submerged in the rave scene and the underground hip-hop scene in Atlanta molded as a freestyle, battle dancer. She was a resident performer at Atlanta’s top nightclubs performing for world-renowned DJs. She choreographed music videos for hip-hop artists and was cast in television commercials. She managed and taught at dance studios, and choreographed for dance showcases, competitions, recitals, and performances. She taught at local festivals and toured with American Idol singer Diana DeGarmo. Magnetik started DJ’ing in 2010 with breaks, drum and bass, and dubstep along the east coast.

She attended Ableton music production school in Denver in 2018. In 2014, she fell in love with tribal belly dance and began fusing it with hip-hop and modern into a very unique style of her own. Landing in Boulder in 2016 she was able to dive into everything she’s passionate about. The community is so strong and supportive. She is the director of Gold Dust Tribe, a performance art group that cultivates art through sound, sacred movement, intention, and channeling of the elements. Since being in Colorado, she has taught at studios in Denver, Boulder, Erie, Lafayette, and Louisville. She’s hosted workshops and performed at festivals such as Sonic Bloom, Tribal Vision, Arise, Elevated Frequencies, Blissfall, and Shamanic Boom. She currently offers weekly classes in the Boulder area. She’s performed at Red Rocks, The Fox Theater, The Black Box, and Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom.

In 2021 she embarked on another passion..massage therapy. The blend of massage and dance just made sense. She attended school in Longmont and is now a licensed massage therapist specializing in therapeutic deep tissue. All of the modalities blend so well together. Music and movement are medicine. Maggi is now the owner of Magnetik Moon Studios, a dance and massage wellness studio in Louisville Colorado. You can catch her djing at clubs in Denver, performing with her dance tribe, teaching dance classes, and massaging the community. Keeping the people feeling and living their best life!!!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been pretty smooth. Massage School was intense and during a time period of me moving and my lil’ pup, Dexter being sick and passing away last December. I practice daily rituals focusing on gratitude and manifesting intentions. I believe in staying true to the path and trusting it along the way. Even when things get rough and life tests you, stay positive and come back stronger.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a choreographer/performer/DJ/massage therapist. I am most proud of graduating from massage school and passing the MBLEX test.

What sets me apart is that I aim to empower others to feel their best… and I offer that through the medicine of music, dance, and massage therapy healing. I want to help people feel they’re the very best. Everything I do revolves around these modalities. I am inspired by so many artists and I aim to inspire those along the way.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I think gratitude is the most important characteristic of my success. Being grateful for the journey no matter how crazy it would be which allows trust in the process. Being grateful for the love and support of my family and friends.

Grateful for the inspiration of my mentors. Gratitude for myself during the process and for knowing my worth.
