Rising Stars: Meet Mandy Maree

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandy Maree

Hi Mandy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Mandy, a romance author, originally from Florida, who now lives in Colorado. I write anything from sweet romcoms to spicy contemporary and paranormal romance. My debut novel is “Meet the Teacher,” a sweet second chance romance/romcom about a teacher who gives teaching a second chance and wonders if she should do the same for the first guy to ever break her heart. It’s packed with some humor and adventure along the way, too.

This fall, I’ll be releasing a co-written paranormal romance novel, titled “Witch, Please,” about two sisters navigating loss, love, and adventure together who both get their own happily ever afters. Additionally, I’ll be releasing a spicy novella set in a small fictional town of Wildwood Springs, titled, “Wild Ride.”

When I’m not writing, I’m working a day-time marketing job and taking care of my two tiny humans, who keep me on my toes every second of every day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has been anything but smooth. I’ve been a military spouse, which is what brought me to Colorado, but I’m currently facing a ginormous obstacle… I’m going through a divorce. Not only did I first have a bit of an identity crisis when I quit my teaching job to write books three years ago, but now I’m going through a whole new crisis that’s been a huge challenge for me.

The thought that has continued to pop up for me this year: “How can I continue to write love stories if I’ve lost my own love story?”

But, here I am. Still writing. Still dreaming. Still believing in love.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I write stories that have happily ever afters, or in other words, I write romance novels. I’m about to publish my third book, and I am most proud of the simple fact that I am still working towards my goals and going after my dreams despite all the obstacles that do seem to keep showing up.

I am resilient and believe that the more you do things scared (my life motto), the less scary they become. And right now, your dreams should scare you, but you should chase them anyway.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love writing near the mountains. Getting to be outside in nature and having an amazing view no matter where I am in the city helps draw inspiration to the stories I write.
