Rising Stars: Meet Mikail Parker of Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikail Parker

Hi Mikail, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Virginia. I then moved to Colorado in the third grade where I started playing the clarinet. I did that for a couple years. Then in middle school I started getting involved in music classes. In high school I put my music ventures on hold to play sports I played soccer and lacrosse. Then I went to college I played lacrosse for one year. I dropped out of the college I was attending in 2017. Then I moved back home to Denver. And then I worked for like 6 months and saved money to goto a professional studio. My first studio I’ve ever been in is called side 3 studios. And the rest is history haha. Fast forward to today and I’ve been in I believe 4 studios ( sydeways soundz, the lab studios, Rocky Mountain Recorders, and Dreamspace Studios) I’ve been recording music since 2017 and it is now 2024 almost 2025.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I guess some struggles that I have observed/encountered are that I don’t always see eye to eye with people. Like I’ve lost a grip of friends cause I was locking in on my dreams but it’s okay cause I make new ones haha. Something else I would say is a struggle is still having to work a 9-5 when I just want to be in the studio working on my arts and crafts.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I make music, the type of genres I specialize in including Hip-Hop, Trap, DnB, Plugg. I wouldn’t say I’m known for anything yet but I will keep working until I can live my dreams. I am most proud of my albums I create specifically Sndrszn 4.5 and my self titled album “ImJustHugo”. What sets me apart from others is I constantly strive to improve myself not just in music but my personal life as well!

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like best about the city is the weather I guess. What I like least is the cost of living.
