Today we’d like to introduce you to Niki Hendriks.
Hi Niki, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I’ve been a hairdresser for 14 years and an IMAGE owner for a year. I have three beautiful children named: Cort (5 years old), Finley (2 and half years old), Jase (7 months old), with my husband Travis. I am a Colorado native and lover of winter. My uncle and business partner Lee Canady is the reason IMAGE Studios was a possibility for us. After many years in the tire business, he saw an opportunity in-salon studio ownership and so generously asked me to be a part of his next step.
Together he and I are a wonderful team. With his experience in business and mine in the salon industry, we feel we have all bases covered for our professionals to thrive and grow to their greatest potential. During the construction of IMAGE Studios Arvada, we had our third child. I was so completely overwhelmed with the many blessings in my life in the spring of ‘21.
The most amazing blessing being my village. My family, friends, and professionals with IMAGE made a dream come true for us. I am indebted to so many and look forward to our future with all the incredible people we have met along the way!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This was a very challenging year with the obstacles surrounding COVID-19 and a very young growing family with two working parents.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a hairstylist, IMAGE studios owner, wife, and mother. I specialize in hair color, specifically blondes, and providing a calm, open-minded workspace for creative professionals. I am known for being a blonde specialist keeping all secrets shared in my chair.
I am so lucky to have clients that I consider friends which makes it so I never work a day. So, I never work a day. I am most proud of my children and husband for giving me grace while learning to navigate having two businesses, adjusting to three children, and having a very large lack of sleep.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My willingness to adapt and learn and has been so important in our success. Being around so many incredible people in the industry is such a strength for me. I have learned so much from them in the past year and look forward to all that I’ll continue to learn.
