Rising Stars: Meet Phalisia Boothe of Colorado Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Phalisia Boothe.

Hi Phalisia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
🎬 From Motherhood to Reality TV: The Unscripted Life of Phalisia Boothe
Hello! I’m Phalisia Boothe—a 33-year-old mother, wife, reality TV contestant, and true crime podcaster based in Colorado Springs. My life has been a whirlwind of love, challenges, and unexpected adventures.

💖 Love, Science, and Motherhood
Eight years ago, I married the love of my life. Thanks to the wonders of science and the boundless power of love, we welcomed our beautiful daughter into the world. Becoming a mother has been the most rewarding adventure, filled with sleepless nights, endless cuddles, and the occasional diaper disaster.

🦑 Entering the Squid Game Arena
When my daughter was just six months old, I made the bold decision to participate in Squid Game: The Challenge on Netflix as Player 229. Competing for a jaw-dropping $4.56 million prize, I faced intense challenges and formed unbreakable bonds with fellow contestants. Although I didn’t win, the experience was unforgettable, and the friendships forged through our shared “trauma bonding” are priceless.

🎙️ Launching the Paranoid Sisters Podcast
Back home, I channeled my passion for true crime into co-hosting the Paranoid Sisters Podcast with my sister-in-law, Phalisia. Together, we delve into chilling crimes that have occurred right here in Colorado. Our podcast combines spine-tingling stories with a dash of humor, making it the perfect companion for your evening glass of wine. (paranoidsisterspodcast.com)

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! My journey has been anything but smooth—it’s been a rollercoaster of challenges, resilience, and unexpected turns.

When I decided to participate in Squid Game: The Challenge on Netflix as Player 229, I knew I was stepping into uncharted territory. The experience was intense, and while I embraced the competition, I didn’t anticipate the aftermath. My strategic decisions on the show led to a wave of online backlash. Viewers, influenced by the show’s editing, labeled me as a villain, and the negativity spilled over into my personal life. People left false negative reviews on my cleaning business and our podcast, affecting my livelihood .

The portrayal painted me in a light that didn’t reflect who I am. I was depicted as a “sexist, lesbian, man-hating person,” which was far from the truth. The editing took my words out of context, leading to misunderstandings about my character .

Beyond the show, balancing motherhood, marriage, and entrepreneurship has its own set of challenges. Running a business, hosting the Paranoid Sisters podcast, and being there for my family requires constant juggling. The online harassment added an unexpected layer of stress, but it also taught me the importance of resilience and staying true to oneself.

Despite the hurdles, I’ve found strength in adversity. The support from genuine fans, friends, and family has been overwhelming. It’s a reminder that while the road may be rocky, perseverance and authenticity pave the way forward.

As for motherhood it is both a dream fulfilled and a journey marked by profound challenges. Thanks to the marvels of science and the unwavering support of my loving wife, we were blessed with our beautiful daughter. However, the path to motherhood wasn’t without its hurdles.

The early days were a whirlwind of emotions. Balancing the joy of new parenthood with the demands of daily life proved to be more taxing than I had anticipated. Sleep became a luxury, and the constant worry about doing everything “right” was overwhelming. There were moments when I questioned my abilities and felt the weight of responsibility pressing down on me.

Yet, amidst the sleepless nights and self-doubt, there were moments of pure magic. The first time our daughter smiled, her tiny fingers wrapping around mine, the gentle coos that filled our home—all these moments served as reminders of the profound love and connection we shared.

Through the challenges, I learned the importance of seeking support, practicing self-compassion, and embracing the imperfections of parenthood. Motherhood has taught me resilience, patience, and the boundless capacity of the human heart to love.

While the road hasn’t always been smooth, every twist and turn has shaped me into the mother I am today—grateful, humbled, and endlessly devoted.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Embarking on the journey of entrepreneurship or launching a creative project like a podcast is both exhilarating and challenging. Drawing from my experiences, here are some insights and advice for those just starting out:

1. Embrace Imperfection
Perfectionism can be paralyzing. It’s easy to get caught up in making everything flawless before launching, but this can lead to delays or even prevent you from starting. Remember, progress is better than perfection. Your first attempt doesn’t have to be perfect; it just has to be genuine.

2. Be Prepared for Emotional Highs and Lows
The entrepreneurial journey is a rollercoaster of emotions. There will be moments of doubt, setbacks, and unexpected challenges. It’s essential to build resilience and understand that these experiences are part of the growth process. Seek support when needed and celebrate small victories along the way.

3. Value Your Time and Set Boundaries
When you’re passionate about your work, it’s tempting to be available 24/7. However, it’s crucial to set boundaries to prevent burnout. Allocate specific times for work, rest, and personal life. Remember, taking care of yourself ensures you can give your best to your endeavors.

4. Stay True to Your Authentic Voice
In a world saturated with content and businesses, authenticity stands out. Whether you’re starting a podcast, a business, or any creative project, let your unique perspective shine. Your genuine voice will resonate with your audience and build trust.

5. Seek Feedback and Be Open to Learning
Constructive feedback is invaluable. Don’t shy away from seeking opinions and learning from others. Every piece of feedback is an opportunity to grow and improve. Stay curious and always be willing to adapt and evolve.

Remember, every expert was once a beginner. Embrace the journey, learn from each experience, and stay committed to your vision. You’ve got this!
