Rising Stars: Meet Slim Organics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Slim Organics. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Slim Organics is a love child between Jah Slim and Brandon Roach birthed during the height of the pandemic lockdown. We had met each other at an artist meet-up in late 2019. We instantly clicked and shared each other our information. We were both still in our early stages of being artists, our first collaborations were just us diving deep into sonic exploration. When the lockdown began, and live music took the back seat, we realized we had an amazing opportunity to focus on our sound, and worked on our music skills with many months of isolation.

During this time our friendship also grew, and we realized we live similar lifestyles. Our music is a unique mixture of math rock and underground electronic music, so that meant we needed a unique name to match. Our music sessions would always end with us cooking an exquisite vegan meal. One night we had an epiphany – Slim Organics will be our name! Why? We are both slim, healthy, and plant-based individuals with an amazing, nutritious, and positive message to bring to the world.

Shortly after the lockdown, we published our debut EP “Slim Organics, Baby” and began to perform live and crank out content. 2022 has been our best year yet, we got deep into creating videos, media, and live remixes for various social media sites. We are looking forward to the future, and plan on pushing ourselves creatively and spiritually to bring the Slim Organics brand to the world!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No one expected the pandemic to occur. The isolation and shutdown of the live music industry were very difficult. But we made a conscious decision to use this difficult time to create an amazing opportunity. We used all that time to collaborate regularly, put in some serious time in the studio, and develop our special sound.

The pandemic lifted slowly and was not always straightforward, but we stayed persistent and kept making moves toward live music, promoting our band, and creating content. The challenges and adversity we faced pushed us to dig deep and invest heavily in our vision.

We are a Math Rock/Electronic fusion band.

Jah Slim is the DJ, Brandon Roach is the Guitarist, and together we produce the Slim Organics sound. We are most proud of our debut EP, and the live remix content we have created featuring various popular electronic tracks. What sets us apart is our positive wholesome message and our unique sound.
