Rising Stars: Meet The Losers Club

Today we’d like to introduce you to The Losers Club .

Hello, The Losers Club. Thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Honestly, The Losers Club originally was supposed to be a wedding band, believe it or not. I went on a walk one day and wanted to be playing live music. I figured that was an easy way to get the ball rolling (I was wrong). Unfortunately, I wasn’t close with anyone who could play, so it became an excuse for me to practice and hope something would work out. My friend’s brother (Tristin) moved back home right around that time. Tristin had been playing solo acoustic shows around Denver for a bit, so it was pretty much a done deal. We jammed, wrote a bunch of shitty songs nobody ever heard, and met some interesting people. Nothing ever came of it, though. Life gets in the way, and it’s easy to get distracted, especially when you’re young. So we took a break from each other. As dumb as that sounds, bands are so similar to relationships; it’s ridiculous. It ended up being the best thing for us. Sometimes the timing isn’t right. We pushed through, met up in Las Vegas, pissed together, met Cade (the glue to this band), and became the furthest thing from a wedding band. That’s a summary, but that’s what happened.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not. The road less traveled is always paved like shit, you know? Plus, we had no idea what we were doing on top of that. Still don’t and probably never will. Things like low-quality recordings, bad sound guys, whatever, it’s a big list. But that’s everything when you’re starting. Not just bands. It’s hard, and you have bad days. Tristin and I will call each other when something terrible happens and be like “dude,” and I’ll be like, “dude, I know” Seriously, that’s the entire phone call. Meanwhile, Cade’s, “Shut up, we’re fine.” As I said, he’s the glue.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Well, we’re a rock band. We do rock band stuff. I know that’s a pretty broad stroke, but it is. As far as what we’re most proud of, I’m not sure. I don’t want to speak for Cade and Tristin. Though I’m most proud that we’ve done everything, we’ve said we would do. Goals we had a year ago both big and small we’ve been able to do. That’s huge; if you say it, you must do it even if it sucks.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Jesus, there are so many. We also haven’t even done shit yet. Our friends, fans, Hayley <3 (She knows who she is), Glenn, Rich, and Mr. Taylor Hahn. Chris Tracy, hellocentral, Bury Mia, Years Down, everyone who’s accidentally stumbled into our shows. Tristin’s dad, my mom, and Cade’s parents for sure. Those are probably some of the only people who didn’t look at us cross-eyed when we said we were doing this and that went a long way.
