Rising Stars: Meet Trisha Chavez of Thornton CO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trisha Chavez.

Hi Trisha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story has been a long time coming. I have always have been a helper and an empath since the day I can remember. Always wanted to help people and hated to see people struggling. Going through life I could never figure out what I was supposed to be when I grew up. I did some college and that wasn’t for me. I battled addiction, overcame that and decided I wanted to help others achieve sobriety but that just didn’t fill my heart. The universe was always telling me massage therapy and I finally listened. I dropped everything and put all my time and energy into that and boy I could not be more happy. This what I was meant to do, this is the thing that finally feeds my soul. I have been a massage therapist for about three years now. I am a single mother of three wonderful children and work 7 days a week to support my family, but it does not feel like work it is the most fulfilling thing to help people that are in pain and giving them hope. Whether it be emotionally and physically.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road by far. I have faced some obstacles in my life that were tough but has made me into the person I am today. I have lost my only brother, I have battled addiction with 7 years sober. I have been through the fire more than a couple times. But that really made me look at myself and what I want to be and who I can be. Which has brought me to where I am today.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been a massage therapist for about three years now. I use techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, cupping, Ashiatsu, prenatal, and myofascial. I am most proud of myself for how I have excelled in my field and have changed so many peoples lives by decreasing pain, anxiety, stress, and just giving people their quality of life back. I don’t know what set me apart from others because every massage therapist has their own style, but I have great intuition and can really heal people with my hands.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned is to treat everyone with kindness and love because you do not know what people are going through.
