Ruthy Nuñez’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ruthy Nuñez. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Ruthy, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I like to think I’m somewhere in between finding my path as I go, while wandering until I discover it. Sometimes I believe the only way to truly find your path is to get a little lost along the way, as you figure out who you are and what you want out of life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Ruthy, the creator of Three Dogs Art. I’m from Denver, Colorado, and I’ve always had a passion for both art and animals, so I decided to create something that brings them together.

At Three Dogs Art, our mission is simple: to celebrate the bond between pets and their humans through handcrafted designs. We specialize in unique pet ID tags and wooden creations made for the people who love them. Each piece is carefully crafted by hand, making it truly one of a kind. We also focus on using the highest-quality materials so your items can last through everyday adventures, wherever life takes you.

Giving back is just as important to us as creating, which is why a portion of every purchase is donated to a local nonprofit organization. At Three Dogs Art, our hope is to share the same joy and sunshine that our pets bring into our lives, one handcrafted piece at a time.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has most shaped how I see myself is the one I shared with my first dog, Dylan. As my first dog, he showed me many ‘firsts’ that I needed to learn. The greatest lesson he taught me was how to slow down and truly be in the moment, because time is precious. I hadn’t realized how profound the bond between a person and a dog could be, but having him in my life changed me forever. No matter how much time passes, nothing will erase how deeply I still miss him.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most in life is the fear of the unknown. I naturally plan and like to know what to expect each day, which makes stepping into uncertainty uncomfortable for me. I’ve realized that this resistance to ‘going with the flow’ has sometimes caused me to miss opportunities. But I’m learning that embracing the unknown—even just a little—can open doors to experiences I might never have imagined.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
Bigfoot! I know he’s out there!

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember my commitment to giving back to my community. Even when it’s in small ways, I try to make a difference by supporting local nonprofits that care for animals. Giving back is something that truly matters to me, and it’s a way to share the love and care that animals bring into our lives.
